Don't care. I merely want to see the pretty scenery streaming by.

If the TdF was three weeks of a lone rider gracefully arcing his way across the flowering summer fields followed by a camera crew, I'd be just as happy. Maybe even moreso.

Well, that sucks that Frome lost Wiggins as support. Hopefully the rest of the team will work for him as hard as they worked for Wiggins but Froome was a big part of Wiggo's win last year and I'm not sure they will have anyone who will as strong as Froome was last year. Looks like Sanchez might get the support he needs so we have him to consider now too. This looks like it could be a real exciting race this year.

All this talk about who's going to win has got me pumped. It's time to dust off the Madone for a canyon ride. My favs are Cadel and Froome. Hopefully Cadel can win another one but he was hurting pretty bad last tour. Hopefully the fans will stop throwing nails out on the road crazy French. I'd be happy if Team Sky takes it again they really show true sportsmanship.

Purito's got a shot. A long shot but he could pull it off with some luck.

pretty smokey up here. Haven't been on the bike the last few days because the air is so thick. I have some friends in Green Valley and near Lake Hughes; though their houses are safe (thanks to some dedicated hard working fire fighters) everything around them is a smoking ruin. PCT got burned bad from green valley to Lake Hughes. Poppy Preserve in Lancaster is an ash pile. A whole lot of very pretty country is blackened and dead. Unlike the Santa Monica's, this area doesn't get enough precipitation to come back quickly. It will be years. I guess that's the way of things though; much of the area hasn't burned in over a half century so it was due.

Hope for 3 weeks of this chaos. I would have been pissed if I was the driver of the bus.

And whoever says road racing is not tough, all they need to do is watch today's stage. 100th Tour de France starts off by delivering the goods!

If you haven't viewed it - the 2.5 hour documentary on the 100 year history of the Tour was pretty good. French/euro heavy and light on the modern era, but interesting
Pulling for Cadel to win it all.

The new format looks interesting. Was pleased when they cut to Phil and Paul as I'm a sucker for tradition, but already on the first day I have watched coverage there's a funny quote, this time from Paul:

"Tony Martin has damage to 8 quarters of his body!" :?:
