I did an IRC ride this morning ... Baker Canyon Singletracks. Fun group and some good riding.
It was stupid foggy on the way over, I almost thought I was going to skip it, but just as I passed Irvine Lake on Santiago Canyon the sun came out. I guess that valley where Black Star is keeps most of the fog out. Anyway, Baker Canyon is essentially part of Black Star, same parking area, etc. It is also only open during Black Star Open Access Days and docent led rides.
We rode SilMo singletrack twice, some other fun singletracks and then Silverado Creek trail. SilMo is fun, and I got the KOM since the docents let me go first and there were no hikers in the way, LOL. I much prefer Silverado Creek in the opposite direction from what we did today, because at least that direction skews downhill, but still fun.
The ride was only about 10 miles, so I added in Black Star Canyon. I rode up to Booby Trap and down, then all the little singletracks and Hidden Single Track. Booby Trap has some ruts after the rain, no longer nice and smooth. I somehow managed a PR by 1 whole second, so that was nice. Hidden Trail now has some even sketchier parts, but still fun. I cleaned it all without breaking anything, so that is always a plus.

It looks like this fog must have blown in from L.A. because that is how the sky usually looks up there ....

Bottom of Booby Trap. I started wondering if they just buried the dude right there?

SilMo Single Track. Unfortunately not my KOM which was 5 seconds faster.
