Exactly. And the connections in this case can quite easily be understood to be causation.

not necessarily. to prove causation, the relations must result into a function. however, we are nowhere near what the climate models were predicting. that said, it can be argued that climate change doesnt look like its is being dominated by CO2. we have currently an unexpected global warming standstill. There are a lot of factors such as the influence of clouds, volcanic eruption, natural temperature cycles and solar radiation that are being considered, as they should be.

the co2 relations, which take none of the factors mentioned above in consideration, are unable to result into a predictable climate function. we should be frying by now, but we arent.

as an analogy, incontrovertible science had the spotted owl population decline linked directly to habitat destruction. after destroying thousands of jobs in a logging ban, it turns out that the threat was a natural one. the expansion of another specie of owl.

    funny how that works.

CO2 is convenient for politics because one can say it's human-caused. The other much more significant factors can't be controlled or taxed!
Yes there is a standstill in global temperature while CO2 continues to rise. There's not even correlation.
The last refuge of the believers is ad hominem slurs which have been illustrated above.

Obviously the system is very complicated as you indicated. And the exact relations between all factors will never be known. However there is a cause and effect relationship in the sequence, and there still is a great correlation in the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere, both historically and prehistorically.

whew. this thread was dangerously close to becoming stimulating at the inclusion of zombies.

Since all of you are basing your opinions on having seen and evaluated the data, and not just parroting your favorite petrol-funded politicians stance on the matter, I'll assume you're actually scientists, and able to view this:

    Expect the unexpected.

And entrenched, partisan spitballing is the realm of the closed-minded. See? I can drop platitudes, too.

Nobody asked for silence, though a toning down of the mindless cut-and-paste clucking would be most welcome. I stand ignored.

Estimates of climate-change impacts will get less, rather than more, certain. But this should not excuse inaction, say Mark Maslin and Patrick Austin.

That's got to be a joke. As we know less and less we should act? LOL Maslin and Austin are believers!

The article is behind a pay-wall anyway. That's one of the ways pseudo science is protected from review (Although it doesn't prevent the media from parroting the conclusions) . The was the main topic of Climategate I, hide the data.

    In the contrary

No, is more of a big ---->>>> I TOLD YOU SO!
Global change does exist.....it has since the beggining of time; it is "MAN MADE" global warming that the powers to be tried to dump on us and as a result control our existance.

You should really be thanking us, if it wasn't for us thinking adults, we all be paying through the nose for the BS this turned out to be...... you'll be paying for farting as we speak.

Fraud and confirmation bias continues among the believers

There is so much fraud in science ---
    An amazing list here http://retractionwatch.wordpress.com/

    A
mong the entries is CAGW paper that has been retracted. (If you're curious scan the page) The authors talk about "mistakes being made" but the retraction is due to Steve McIntyre, the statistical expert who demonstrated problems in Mann's work.
