I finnally decided that I need a bigger car to transport stuff and go riding, so I'm in the market. I 99% sure its going to be a toyota 4runner, and either a new one or an 05 used. It's on autotrader for 14k, lets see if I get any takers. Matt this is mostly your fault after riding in your 4runner on Sat. ](*,)
Nissan doesn't make 4runners - Toyota makes 4runners. Although it would be funny if you walked onto a Nissan dealership asking to see their 4runners.
Go by the bikeco and check out the fliers they have for that really big dodge van coversion specifically for MTB and Motocross. With the turbo diesel engine those behemoths get 22 mpg (overlooking the fact the diesel is 3$/gallon). But you will surely impress your friends at the trailhead, and what could be more important than that?
Hehe.. well thanks steve. Let me know if you wana take her for a test drive. Heres a pic from last weekends offroad trip This is somewhere between HolyJim and Trabucco. The new 4Runner's (03 and newer) are defintely nice and have bigger engines. While the 96-02 have better offroad capabilities. I like the looks of my generation better though.
Hopefully you'll use the 4wd function though! Have to give kippie some sh*t for not attempting the climb we all did in our Rangers. Good luck selling your car bro, hope you can get into an SUV or truck soon! You'll never go back to wanting a couple again.

FOR REAL!! after I gotmy truck I never wanted to drive the honda again!! he he only difference is that I have no 4x4!!](*,) CRAP!! well some day I will lift my little RED BIIACCHH!!!
The big "bummer" of the truck/suv is the poor gas milage... Granted you can't carry squat and you could float away in puddle, but it is hard to beat the ~50 MPG that people get with something like a diesel jetta!:-s I had an old Ford F-150 that would get gas milage in nearly the SINGLE digits! It makes the xterra seem like a vespa!
4runners are definitely nice vehicles, i had one myself. I had a '91 4x4 4runner with all the "bells and whistles" and went offroading many times, nothing too extreme of course. loads of fun all over socal. in '98, i went with a pick up, a Nissan Frontier and put on a suspension lift, now i can go all over the place with it for a lot less money and don't have to worry about it geting dinged up out on the fireroads/trails.
I learned to drive on an old '87 4runner. It rocked! It even survived a tropical storm and flood (and me) during my college student days in new orleans! They don't make'em like that anymore!
Alright, am I the only one freaked out by the advertisments being relevant to the subject matter on the page??? Duke- find any 4runners yet? check these things out: http://www.pinzgauer.uk.com/Intro.htm I saw one of these in the Maple Springs parking lot last year.
