Trails are not marked out there we saw no trail closed signs anywhere. If you want specific info on a specific trail PM me.

Just got back from three days of riding Hurkey. Yes all the trails are open and are in primo condition. I expected a lot of slop (especially on Recovery Meadow), but not so. I did see the damage on the trails mentioned in the above article and I have to agree. From Hell Hill down it is pretty trashed. Exfoliator will be missed, but I prefer the Missing Link desent anyway and those trails were primo (with the exception of the upper section of Tunnel of Love which could use some love). Snakeskin, Hombres, South Ridge all great.

frak, I'm going up there the weekend of May 11th. I do remember these sections being in bad shape last year, though.

Exfoliator was seriously rutted up the last time I was on it. Felt like San Juan in some better parts of it, but the ruts seriously hampered flow. Was more fun overcoming the challenge, which took quite a bit of focus, seeking out lines and crossing the ruts to find longer strips of solid ground, than being fun for riding it through such a beautiful area.

You can call the Hub Cyclery in Idyllwild for trail conditions. Or like their facebook page. They post updates on trail conditions regularly and posted this on Thursday:

    "Idyllwild trail conditions forecast:
    O.M.G.
Warm, sunny, great dirt. Everything is good to go and will only get better by the weekend."

Rode Hurkey today. The trails are in amazing shape. We rode Keen Camp Climb, the meadow, and climbed the fire road up to Log Pile. After riding down Log Pile, we rode Snake Skin, Tres Hermanos Dos, Secret Trail, Missing Link, Tunnel of Love and Rage through the Sage. There was a downed tree across Tres Hermanos Dos, besides that perfect. The weather was warm and no snow on the ground.
