Yes. That Chutes Ridgeline. I didn't make that second jump. Wind, demo bike, lack of skill were all contributing factors.
Hope you're ok oaks gets pretty gnarly when it's windy. I've been thrown sideways off the small jump on barham and high sided.
I went to the OCFA station after to thank the helo crew. The pilot is a Vietnam Veteran pilot. He has 18,000 flight hours, that's a lot! Landing on that sinle track was nothing to him. As for my recovery... Physical Therapy is going great. I just started doing push ups this week. I started road riding last week. Hope to be riding on a new Kona Raijin SS The Path is building up for me by the end of April. I was able to ride on my trainer this whole time to keep in shape. Also, I noticed the people in the right of the photo. I had multiple riders stop and stay with me till I was picked up. We have a great biking community and I was ecstatic at the support I got on the trail.
^^^^yes we do!! when my buddy charlie crashed at oaks on the way down barham ridge and broke his collar bone, two bikers found him on the ground and helped him hike out and to his car. ^^^^
