Self taught, and it shows. Most people can get out of debt faster than I go down a hill.

Chris Duncan used to do jump clinics at Whoops, but they don't have the info on Bikeskills.com any more.

Yeah, I just had an email exchange with him. Trying to set up a day to hook up with him. Maybe we can do a group from STR?

Hey, that sounds great Melster! But I think I will need a couple more weeks to heal up my banged up wrist. Julius won't be available the last weekend of Feb & first weekend of March. So I guess I will have to wait 'til the 2nd weekend of March at the earliest? It would be great if we could get some STR guys together to do this. Btw, it will be a XC/AM class for me. Are you thinking of the same class? He also teaches DH & DJ.

same class for me. I wanna learn to do some short drops and jumps too. I can wait till the second weekend of March. I'm finally recovered from a sprained wrist myself. Banged it up doing something stupid while riding day before xmas.

I can't believe it's only gotten better this past week.

Cool! Let's aim for the 2nd weekend of March. Same case here for the banged up wrist...it's been four weeks for me, and the lagging pain seems not going away.

I might be interested in taking this class too. I've been looking for a good class to help me with jumping and cornering better.

It's $55 for a 2-4 hrs class. He said the XC/AM class will cover steep descents, cornering, obstacles and climbing techniques. I think he might throw in some jumping tips if asked, provided there will be enough time.

Just got an email from Joe saying he posted dates on his calendar for upcoming clinics, in case anyone is interested.

FWIW, make sure that the group all has the same skill level, it will make it much more fun. If you have varying skill levels, the instruction will only be as good as the least experienced rider and makes for lots of frustrations.

You'll love the clinic, just the bike setup help is worth the price. ENJOY!

Just curious, are you referring to Julius or Joe's clinic?

I've already taken the class, and I'm at the low intermediate/advanced beginner side. However, I feel that it'd be nice to:
    a) support Joe
    b) brush up on my skills

The class is excellent. Joe has helpers that will attempt to catch you when you try to attempt a skill on a feature. It helps with the confidence part a LOT.
