Got this nice little bruise courtesy of Miracle Mile on Saturday.. some may know the section I am taking about. There's is a tricky little chunky and loose right hand turn in some tight trees in the upper section, and after hitting it a few times, I hit it a little faster and got a little careless I guess.. anyway front wheel got trapped, I catapulted OTB into some very unfriendly rocks positioned perfectly for maximum pain :) took one of them square right on the left side of chest.. felt like someone took a swing at me with a baseball bat.. classic.. stay safe up there.. pretty sure I will be wearing some chest protection next weekend!

    Woah! Nipple Flasher! :)

Is that the section with the 4 inch deep powder dust. I ate it the first time down. My front wheel plowed in and slid out.

Hope youre ok. Watch out for internal injuries.

    Get well soon.

Thanks.. Yeah it may be the same section.. it is deep and loose right after the the rocky drop down section, very easy to wash out once you make it thru the rocks.. in this case I would have been happy with a washout.. landing in those rocks was less than pleasant and I will keep an eye on it.. it looks worse than it is.. but if had been a few inches lower I would've busted some ribs for sure.. good thing I have some extra meat on my chest :)

Classic!! I know it's a serious nipple shot.. couldn't get a view of the bruise without a little nipple action :)

Yeah, my shoulder connected, and I thought that might've ended my day on the first run. Good thing I landed in the dust. All I got was a powder bath. Heal up!

If you don't have a chest protector yet, I can't say enough good things about my Leatt 3DF. Heal up soon!

I was looking at the 3DF and this one pictured below, the Alpinestars Bionic 2.. both were same price but I order the Bionic 2.. if I don't like it I will send back and try the Leatt model

I've never had an Alpinestars. I had a 661 and fox before. The strap across the stomach doesn't get along with my gut, which is why I love the leatt.

I may feel the same way :) we'll see. I tried on a Fox at The Path and the waist strap didn't bother me too much but the chest protection area seemed smaller than I expected and left areas on outside of chest kind of exposed, so I went online to Motocross Giant.. I've ordered stuff from them when I can't find it elsewhere and they have a good selection..

Well, I guess nipples don't bruise.

Ha!! Who knew the nipple shot would be such a hit.. yeah it's clear in the pic exactly where the rock made impact..

Going through footage from the cameras and I had mine on during that run.. I created a very short clip of the section and did the crash in slo-mo.. kinda funny to watch after the fact.. :) Enjoy!

I like how your bike sat right up on its seat so you could check to see if the tires needed any attention

You really think chest protection is necessary for Mammoth? I'm already debating whether or not to wear a FF. I'm going on a mtb trip up there during July 4th weekend and just wanted to be prepared. Thanks! Looking forward to watching the rest of your vid.

Depends on which trails you ride.. even if you opt for no chest gear, I'd go full face if you're gonna ride the lift.. my son and I both have gone down hard sometimes when you least expect it and the fullface has saved the day many times!

Yeah I thought that was pretty cool.. it was positioned perfectly for any work that may be needed..

The pasty comment is classic.. I laughed put loud when I read that.. even my wife when she saw what I posted said wow that's alot of nipple :)

It's a little tricky right there.. funny thing is as I was getting cleaned off and finally got my wind back, a few dudes came flying through there and the last guy in the group lost it in the same spot and launched right toward me, I actually blocked him and kept him from going over the side.. over time that section may catch a few off guard..
