Golden State Finals Oct. 9-10 @Fontana (official)

ok I know this is a little early....BUT

if the finals end up at Mammoth, is there camping there like at Fontana where you can camp on site? Or are we stuck camping at one of the off site campsites?

On Saturday at Fontana they said they're hoping to have the Finals at Mammoth, but they don't know if the snow will be melted. Apparently Mammoth is telling them there's still too much snow to know if everything will be clear by September!

 

September???? Its the end of August for the race. I am guessing you mean if its not melted by Sept, then kiss Aug right off the list.....I don't care where its at....I could even do Woodward again!!! That foam pit is calling my name!!!

 

I meant August, but was thinking September for some reason. Either way, hard to believe how much snow is up there.

 

Some of us talked to Donny, what he said was Mammoth wouldn't even really talk to him about a race but last week he got a call from them saying they wanted to talk. He said he was going to start talking to them this week.

 

Any word on the location for the last race yet? I haven't seen anything on the southridge site yet.

 

Not advisable anyway. Best to sleep at lowest possible altitude.

 

According to someone in the *know* at Mammoth, they are planning (hoping with all fingers crossed) to stay open for snowsports all summer season (yes they did get THAT much snow) it is after all where they make their money.

The bike park will be opening but only the lower trails. With this news who knows if Mammoth and Donny can even make it happen this year, since the focus will really remain elsewhere.

*I had also heard at one point Donny and Mammoth were on different pages as far as the dates for the finals being held (*this is 3rd party info)

 

Here's an idea, why doesn't someone contact Donny directly and ask him????

 

He doesn't return MY emails...

I've emailed him SEVERAL times about the overalls being off,it shows me leading the series and i'm not. I didn't race the 1st race (I fell on my head) so i've tried for months to have them remove me from the first race, with ZERO response.

So maybe someone who gets answers should email them? Denmo :lol:

LOL...your too funny girl! I left a message a few weeks ago but no return call. Thats why I posted it here if anyone knew for sure. Being out of work since december I like the idea of closer venues like Woodward, Fontana, BigBear (yeah I know I am stretching that one....but would be cool to get the big bikes back there!!) just a little easier on the already empty wallet.

 

I have feelers out, will post if/when I have an update!
