Seeing as nobody has started this thread yet, I figure it would be good to do it before chaos ensues...

so far my day has been pretty good. got out early to find very few people there. no denmo/roger, no tmac, no Bflo. where was everyone :-k

well, cruised up to the cul de sac and met up with Mat (DBD), and we hiked a run, sessioning some of the DH. it's an interesting DH. a lot of the turns are lots of fun, but then every few turns you get one that just doesn't flow at all and it kills your speed. I suppose it's good for us though...:?: still, it's pretty cool, and should make for some interesting racing.

did a few more runs with Mfoga and some others who ahd shown up, and decided to call it quits on DH and relax for 4X. basically, my brother and dad decided to come and watch, so I raced 4X. that way they had something other than DH practice to watch (which, in reality, isn't particularly exciting for the most part).

messed around up top for a little with Foesnasty and one of his friends (didn't catch the name), took a break, and finished up my practice when the gate got setup.

onto the race: 1st moto was 4 guys, top 2 advance to the main. we all take off, and I'm tied 2nd and 3rd out of the first turn. we stay together until after the 3rd turn, where he powers off a little. he ends up taking the turn to the bottom wide, so I licked in and passed him. neck and neck, he pulls ahead just a little going into the last sprint to the finish. somehow, I managed to make up a bike length, and got 2nd in that moto by a matter of inches. the two of us didn't have any clue who had actually won our little duel.

for the 2nd moto, it was just as interesting. got gated by the BMXers, and caught up in the first turn. came out even with Tom, but he powered out of the turn and was gone. I was fighting for 2nd again. this time, the guy behind me (who incidentally won the first moto), cut me off in the 2nd turn, and I was stuck behind him for the remainder. lost by about half a bike length in the end.

overall, though, I'm quite happy I still got 3rd. that's especially considering that 4X is sort of my side-race (I tend to do DH more). I put up a good fight, and had a good, honest race for both motos. it was great fun :)

also, so you guys have some reward for reading my little novel there, here's some pictures courtesy of my dad

I have lots more that I don't feel like processing right now, but if you've got a number or description I can post up a photo for ya if I've got one.

Yeah it was an odd morning. Get there and no one is there until I see Matt. Bryan showed up coming back from col de sac down a few min later. I am like where is everyone. :?: We sat around for a bit then headed up. As said the course is mmm interesting. You start to get a flow going and then you hit some f'ed turn and kill the speed and flow.

Watching this 4x was great lots of good close racing and lots of cheering/heckling.

Evil wins the maneuver of the day, had someone go down right in front of him, at the small step up at bottom and just bunny hopped right over him not even touching him.

Congrats, Bryan.:bang:

I wish I could have been there to partake in the Fontana goodness but the body just isn't cooperating at the moment.

Oh Brian, Roger, Nancy, Mark, and the little kid that was at Joses. I will never forgive you for the boot R incident. Anybody want to buy an ECD? J/K I love the new bike. See ya in the AM.

That was fun, I was"Vocal" on my run. Felt soo good to get out and go for a ride.

Dumb me was to late to register.Wont make that mistake next race. But I had fun riding the 4x and managed to get in a run on the course as well. Plus Daven was super stoked to get EC's autograph as we were leaving. He hung it above his bed.:)

yummy beer!
Where have you been of late?:?:

My RR is short, got there early, (it was still dark) did one partial run, went OTB and jammed/hyperextended my thumb on a rock. I couldn't hold the bars ride down and sat a bit, tired around 9:30 to grab bars still hurl like hell and pulled myself out of the race. So I hung out and cheered/heckled.

All-you-can-eat Korean food the night before gave me nausea all yesterday AM, thus I wasn't able to make it out there. However, I'm happy to say that I'll be back in two weeks........and on the bike!

my DH report:

showed up this morning early as well. it was cold... did a few runs to find a pleasant surprise: the course had actually improved since I had last rode it. good times.

got 3 runs in before the race, and felt okay. hung out for a bit, and headed up.

finally put together a clean run top to bottom. my legs were burning the whole way from 4X yesterday, so my performance on the wall could've been better, but it was a clean run so I was stoked.

ended up getting my first podium in DH (good weekend for me eh?) with a 5th place in my class. still 6 seconds or so out of 1st, but I'm still happy :)

better yet: I finally broke the cycle and beat down Bflo by .33 seconds. for those who don't know, he's rather consistently beat me by 2 seconds on my cleanish runs. take that you sandbagger!

it was a bit meh of a weekend though. not a lot of the regulars there made it a little boring, but still a fun time. look forward to seeing everyone out at the last race in 2 weeks.

i was fortunate enough to attempt to practice a run with brian. unfortunatly the guy is way too fast. sounds like you might've put a practice run into your race run. congrats.

Was it just me or did it seem like a small race. I dont think there was nearly as many riders as normal.

Practice shots are online.

Results are online. I think its a new record.

I cant help but think if you spent more time looking at the course and less looking at photogs you might ride better.

GOOD RACE, CONGRATULATIONS EVERYONE!!:bang::beer:

There seems to be a lot of people on the IR but still a lot of people were MIA.

I do know(never thought I would say this) I kinda need a little break from DH as that all I have been riding pretty all year.

Ha, I forgot, On my race run, most everyone knew who I was coming down.......... Ouch.....Ouch....Ouch....Ouch....Ouch....Ouch

Good times!!!

Way to go Bryan, I knew you could do it.:bang:

Mark, you should have just taped you hand to the bars buddy.:lol:

Hopefully I'll be good for the last race.
