Thought I'd throw this up for those that need to plan ahead to meet there practice/race times. AND of course to come out to watch and support...always fun with great people to hang with :drunk: . Friday late afternoon is the Super D and 4x...I plan to watch both of those, also? Wonder how strict they are about keeping you to your practice times...can you just hike up anytime??:-k

Southridge quote: "New Longer 4x track designed by Eric Carter!!!! for the norba NAts!!!! he was working from 8am until 11pm see you there!!!"

They're pretty strict with practice times, course marshalls will be out in full force. I'll be racing DH in the expert 35-39 class, Super D in the 30-39 class.

I'll be there as a spectator slash photographer and cheerleader. I plan on coming out Saturday and Sunday. I asked my Physical Trainer if I could start riding, just on the road and she shot me down.:( But I'm hopefull for June race in Fontana, if I cant make that I should be able to hit Sonoma.

I'll be doing beg./sport DH on Saturday and cross-country expert Sunday. Both single-speed. Say hello! Keith and I are camping out there Friday and Saturday night.

Are you racing Expert in your age group?
Don't forget the Expert SS class doesn't exist in true Norba fashion...its a SS Mixed open at Fontana.

Did you check out your competition yet? I was planning on racing the SS class, even did some pre-race laps yesterday- but am reconsidering since there are some serious heavy hitters in the "open" class.
I don't mind getting beat, it happens all the time!, but that field is pretty serious.
I might just enter my age group and race my SS that way or I might just spend my $50 on beer:beer:  and cheer!
    Good luck!

It's mixed, but I hear they divide us up once we get to the race. Last time I checked (which was maybe a week ago) Marla Streb and one other woman are in the s-s mixed class! I would absolutely love getting beaten by Marla Streb, so I don't really care whether they divide us up. I just don't want to race beg. or sport. That's all I really know. Kinda winging this race ... more like a "just for fun" sorta thing - hence the whole downhill on a single-speed joke. Say hello! I'll be bringing beer too!

Oh, how was the course? How many miles and elevation and all that?

wait, the schedule does not say when the single-speeders go! expert cross-country is saturday ... 1.5 hours before my downhill race! unless they are having the s-sers race with the beg./sport xc people sunday, i don't know if i can race xc.

i know s-s does not exist for norba, but they upgraded me to expert xc ... my sea otter times would have made be 2nd place (1 min. behind first place) for the geared sport women 20-25. i'll probably get my ass kicked at these nationals, but i don't care. :) the beer will heal all ego-related wounds. now the dh wounds are a different story ...

dude, jose ... you should do it too! you rock the rigids and hardtails.

The Incycle tent is a good place to pass through for everyone so we can say hi and meet new STR folks. Usually is around the center of the dirt parking area.Try to get me your race numbers so I can get a pic. Will also will be watching friends Thurs. and Friday practice/race if anyone else is there. It's always FUN so come out. Break a leg ...:bang:
I'll be doing a spin on the xc course later 4ish...it's a local ride for me if anyone else is around..
Poor cell phone pic but came across this big boy resting on the trail last time there. Not a heavily used course on off days so they're out but probably won't be a problem race days.
