Flight Line

Went down to Carlsbad last weekend to create a new route for Geoladders -- Overview. We rode Flight Line which turned out to be a fun ride. We only had enough time to ride a handful of the trails. As I understand it, there is some really fun, big stuff to be found. Anyway, I plan to ride the rest of the area as soon as I can get back down there.

For those of you that are not familiar with Flight Line... It is a complex network of trails that has been built since the mid 80's. As I understand it, one guy is responsible for a majority of the trails. Without a doubt, these trails were made by mtb'rs for the purpose of mountain biking.

Yeah, some of Flight Line is already been graded for housing. Soon they will knock down some more for an industrial center. They are still building trails over by the skate park. Furthermore, they have built a trail that connects Flight Line to Calveras.

You really should ride this place while you still can. Its 40 miles from 5 and 74.

Thats sweet you and Terry made it down to Flightline. I used to ride Caliveras and Flightline all the time before I moved to OC. Those ladders and bridges must be new since Ive never seen those. Caliveras Kind of sucks now. I went down there last month and nothing special.

Yeah, most of that stuff is new. There are even a lot of new trails to go with all of the new bridges and ladders. There is supposed to be a some bigger stuff down in the low valley. I even heard that someone is building Caliveras up as well.

I havnt ridden here since I moved. Next time I come home I will bring the Spot with me. Its been raining every night here so trails are probably gooood.

The next couple of weekends I'll be free to go down and check out Flightline. This place looks like fun!

i'm good for the 23-24... and possibly the 30-1st if my vacation doesn't get approved to go out and join in the Turner Homer Convention in St.Geroge and Moab. we should start a new thread to find out interest from others that would want to go.
