Holy Cow!! Dave aka dcrfx/knucklebuster is coming out to ride w me!! Woo hoo .....

I'm extending the invite to the last surviving STR members.

Meet: Ramona Trailhead off the 74
When: Thursday/May 14th
Time: 10:30am

This should be a 3hr ride cuz he's making me climb Ramona ALL THE WAY TO THE TOP (to Mt. Thomas) - he's thoughtful that way. ;)

It's been 15 years since I rode there so of course we must go to the top! (if it's not snowing) :)

I have rode Ramona many times and three different ways. The fireroad from Hemet Lake, the same fireroad from the other end and just ride the singletrack up and down. I have even shuttled it. I like just climbing up the singletrack and coming back down. Way too much highway and fireroad the other ways.

Thanks Dean, our thoughts exactly, the stint on the road sucks. Plan to climb Ramona to Tool Box Springs then the fire road up to the Thomas Mtn Campground and hopefully the spur up to the peak. Then catch the singletrack to the north of the campground to Ramona for around 6 miles DH of fun. Been a long time since I've done it, but always loved it...

It's become one of my favorite trails to ride around here: easy breezy climb (some challenging step-ups tho but makes coming down better) and a giggly descent....

Looking forward to it Dave - it's been way too long since we've ridden together.

^^Thanks Mike!

I think we need to postpone it until next week Dave. What do you think??

Yeah I've been watching the forecast... that storm seems to keep getting bigger and earlier. High of 39, rain, thunder possible. I can wait another week!

I can't go but don't cancel it. Some of the best rides I have ever done have been in inclement weather. Those are the rides that you don't forget. Dress for the ride and have fun. As a out and back you can always stop and turn around. Just do it!

Yea, I can't squeeze this one in tomorrow either. But everyone else should definitely still go. Just don't try it with bikepacking gear; that would constitute intolerable suffering.

Rock on, Dan.

Too late - it's scheduled for next Tues.

Mike!!...come out. Bring the Weasel (it's ok to call her that, right since you do?? I'd punch you if you called me that!! LOL)......

I was actually musing over Dan's suggestion...I gotta get with the LOLs or smileys...

But I do love that trail, and would love to join. Even if it's a ho-hum bluebird day. : ) Wifers is out, but if I can swing it I will. Sawmill should have snow on it, but I'd likely try for that too. Maybe more, depending.

Stay psyched!

Good deal Mike. And yes, I got your Dan/Dean musing - I just like razzing you bc I do "get" you but have to be ornery cuz that's me!!

I'll be PSYCHED if you show up to ride bud.

Bad news: I had a squamous cell carcinoma lesion removed on Fri 5/15, from my lower left leg. Doc says no riding for TWO weeks.

I whined, cried and begged that I'd be able to ride by Fri 5/22 (I have plans to ride Snow Summit). He put in heavier stitches to keep me from busting open my incision. Drawback: A big scar. (Who cares??...not me!!)

I will not be riding on Tues. Don't know if Dave will. Dave??.... I know it won't be the same w/o me. ;)

Wouldn't do it without you Rox, we've been talking about it for far too long. We'll schedule again in a few weeks! Heel up quick girl!

Take it easy on that incision Rox. We don't want you popping it open or getting an infection. Those trails will be there when you're ready.

You're awesome Dave!! Weather and incision permitting, you're welcome to join me on Fri at Snow Summit - I promise I'll change my own tires...lol

Thanks Jim. And you are so correct, it's just hard to be patient. BTW: Next time I do trail work w you, I'll bring blueberry muffins, sprinkled w crispy bacon - that's the best transportable breakfast I could think of in line w your preference ...

Oh man, that's awesome! I love blueberry muffins and bacon! Remind me to load up my camelbak with a good french roast, which might be the ticket for Snow Summit if things don't warm up! )*o*(

Yikes! I don't know what that means, but carcinoma doesn't sound happy. Healing vibes your way - and I agree with Jim - heal up, the trails will wait.
