I'm frikkin bored so I'm fixing shit around the house. This does not apply to door mounted dispensers or fancy computerized units. The concept is the same, but the stuff will look different.

Total cost 22 bucks, and it works.

    Things to check:
    1) Check the water supply. Is it on? Is the line kinked? Is the water filter blocked? Is the fill tube frozen over. This is the easy part. A hair dryer and a few basic tools will allow you to address most of these. After you rule out this stuff, onto the next steps.

    2) Check the ice tray. This part requires making a jumper wire and handling live 120 volt current. DO NOT ATTEMPT IF YOURE A DUMB ASS. Ice makers are pretty standard across a side range of fridges.

If the ice tray is broke. You can purchase the motor module by itself here. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0050KK1UY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

UNPLUG THE FRIDGE before installing new module.

    3) If the ice tray passes the test, test the water inlet valve.

Installation may require metal snips, will require basic tools and a drill.

That's about it. That's all there is to it.

    THE END.

    those icemakers are shite.
There is a section inside the motor module that allows the tray to heat enough to dump the ice. It often shorts and the ice wont drop..

It was an easy fix with a piece of copper and a solder iron.
