I know what you're sayin', Rob. Guess I could settle for a Six Pack, if somebody forced one on me. If it came with a 36, that would be acceptable as well.

An ID?

I would have to say an Ellsworth Id would be my dream bike.
I've ridden the ID, I did not like it at all. Too tall of a bottom bracket height, and some funky geometry. I hear the Moment is much better. Better yet, get a Six Pack.

Not bad...

This bike makes a lot of sense now. With most trail bikes now sporting 5 inches of travel, a decent pedaling trail bike with 7.5" of travel seems like a really good idea. With the Fox 36, the bike weight should be fairly light (33 lbs). Another decent option would be a Intense Uzzi-VPP with the Fox 36. A little heavier, but a really awesome pedaling bike.

Jackson, an ID :?: Many much nicer frames out there to choose from!

All you haters, crushing my dreambke!!! j/k okay, i should consult with my bike Dr. (FXrob) before purchasing my next bike. I haven't riddent an Id, so I'm not sure how it is, but I read up on it and it sounded pretty cool. I don't need anything more than 5.5 inches of travel for the riding that I do. Maybe a 5-Spot would be better (after I win the lottery).

Unless you're gonna sell your Enduro you should think bigger. Why do you want another 5" travel bike.....look into something with around 6" of travel and a more laid back geometry.....wait I just described the ID, but NOT that bike.

5 Spot is a great choice...

I like 5 spots.

Nice 5 spot! You like your Pike as much as I do? The Pike paired with the DHX on my FXR is an amazing combo.

I agree with FXRob. No need to get another 5" bike. I like that 6 Pack and the Moment is sweet too. That Inferno is cool but the interupted seat tube kills it for me.

The pike..

The pike is a really great fork. I went down Stair Steps on Sunday, and I had to slow myself down because I going way too fast because of how good the fork is. This fork is so much better than the Minute that it replaces, its not even funny. Funny thing though, I replaced the romic with a Fox AVA air shock, and it seems just as plush as the romic, yet about a pound lighter. My spot is feeling really good at the moment. It climbs great, descends fast, and weighs around 28 lbs. I have to agree with you about getting a longer travel bike for Dino. It makes no sense to have a 5 and 6 inch travel bike. That is why I have not bought a six pack.

Yeah but I get away with it on my FXR and that is with the DHX reservoir limiting the seatpost adjustment even more. If you look at how much room there is between the seat tube and the shock on the Inferno I think it would be pretty much a non-issue.

hmph

there is no one perfect bike. if I had enough cash I would have three bikes:

a really light SC Blur for long XC rides
A five spot built up around 31 pounds
and a full on DH/Freeride rig for kicks maybe a VP Free or an Uzzi.

Even if I have all the money in the world I will never ride a hardtail or a freekin singlespeed!
