RR: Del Cerro with vondork and von bret
Good times as always. Thanks Bret and Matt for a good ride. We went out to check out a ladder drop that Matt had a video of and luckily we ran into Sean Evans (Turner pro DH'er) who took us to the spot. Of course I wasn't gonna hit it and Matt and Bret were worried about the landing. That whole area was super loose dirt and loose rocks. But they did hit a smaller ladder drop just after the bigger one. Vondork landed it as smooth as a babies butt. Bret's left leg came unclipped on the landing and he somehow managed to somewhat save it riding on super loose terrain with one foot. After that goodness, we climbed up the fireroad and came down slalom - a super fast, flowly, fun ST. Vondork seemed to love the bushes on this trail! Bret also had a nice bush encounter which I didn't get to see. After coming down that we rode back up the fireroad and hit the singletrack with the jumps on the left side. There's a new plank on the wooden jump which surprised me and I crashed into the bushes shortly after landing. Nothing too bad though. After that ST we rode back up the fireroad again and decided to do slalom again. This is when Bret had his meeting with the bushes. When getting ready to go back up the fireroad again, Greg was coming up and invited us to ride a short flowly ST. Hit that and then rode back up the fireroad. Decided to drop a little into the ST with the jumps to take some photos of that wooden jump. These photos were pretty sweet. Climbed out and back to the cars. On the way to our post-ride meal we spotted a gentlemen's club which seemed perfect for von skipp. Had some super healthy food at Tommy's and called it a day. Pics due up in a minute . . .
Vondork hitting the upper wooden jump
Me on the upper wooden jump
Bret on the upper wooden. Very nice action shot!
Sean nails the wooden drop
Matt (aka vondork) hits the 'smaller' wooden drop
Bret hits that same drop. Left leg comes unclipped after the landing
Bret and Matt discuss the drop
Bret says hello to bush on the slalom trail
The bigger drop and rock roll towards the top of the trail. Can't really tell in the pic but dirt is super loose in this area
Scenery going home
Super healthy post-ride food. Tommy's is good times  Might regret it tomorrow but oh well.
Hi-res versions and more photos in the album.
