I just looked at the website and it says closed :-k

LCWP is open though

I rode LCWP on Sunday and every entrance to El Moro had a huge closed sign outside. LCWP from the NIX center was not too bad, a little slush and a lake or 2 but fun just the same to get out...

 

Well it sounds like the ridge park entrance is open so I will go walking there. I am looking for a good place to take a colleague from work to go hiking locally around newport. I bike this park all of the time but it would have been nice to start at PCH entrance.

 

2 different parks there. LCWP is open, therefore the Ridge Park entrance which is Bommer Ridge is in LCWP. El Moro is CCSP and is on the southside of the fenceline. The trails Fenceline/Missing Link are part of El Moro as well as BFI, Moro Ridge and are all closed. The entrance on PCH will also be closed.

 

Aside from Ridge Park, you can also enter LCWP from a few different places, the most common being by the ranger station on Laguna Cyn Rd. Closer to PCH (and El Moro) is Dartmoor St. (Boat Cyn FR). By using either of these, you climb entering the park, but get to finish with a descent back to your car.
