    It was......WOW!?!?!

I used to have a '04 Fisher Sugar 293, but this thing is worlds nicer.

Yeah, it is the Matte Shit Brown:lol:

I swapped out the bars, brake levers, grips, seatpost and rear cog. Put on Bontrager King Earl bars 28" wide, Oury Grips , Avid Single Digit & Levers and Raceface XO seatpost. Have a new headset on order. May swap out the rear tire....the Exiwolfs have tons of traction, but roll pretty slow. My put on a Nanoraptor for the rear. Changed out the 20t rear for a Surly 22t cog.

    Will post pics soon.:)

I plan on training on it......we will see how it goes.:confused:

    Lacey is in...MAYBE

Hey all, I haven't been on here for a while.
Couple of weeks ago Lacey told me she'd like to give the VQ a shot.8-[
She's comming after your tital ocrider!;) If she can finish it, it'll give her the youngest finisher ever spot, at just 14 years old. (You were 15 when you finished this year, right ?)
I told her that after her last race on the 22nd of this month, we'll start doing the looonger rides.](*,) First ride I'm taking her on is Trabuco-West Horsethief-Trabuco. She knows what the first part is like. It's time to introduce her to the rest!
It'll be cool to see what she thinks.

Yep that was my buddy Kevin Brown. He's an awesome rider. I forsee him posting high on the Intermediate 31-45 rankings at the 6 hour of OC. Last Year he was plagued by cramps. I love his Felt. Brand New build..XTR everything.

Your mean, making her do the hike-a-bike twice (once now and once during the race).:protest:

I signed for CC. I decided that the amount of training for VQ would probably take over my entire weekend. I have a target time to beat from last year :)

Signed up for VQ again. 7:30 is the goal. That would be about 2 hrs. off my time from this year. Training starts in January. I'm taking December off.

Looks like CC is full. I'm currently signed up for the CC but am considering doing VQ instead. What type of weekly miles would you guys suggest putting in before the ride? Any suggestions would be appreciated? Thanks.

    Hey everyone!

Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself (my name is Tony). I haven't spent much time on this site but I just signed up for the VQ and it seems this is where the VQ/CC chat action is happening.

I walked up half of horsetheif with mtnbikej last weekend and even though at the time I thought for sure it was too tough, I decided push myself and do the VQ anyways.

It turned out the CC was full so I'm glad I made the decision on my own.

I usually ride every saturday on some part of the VQ route so perhaps I will join one of your group rides. (I love Blackstar) Most of my friends I used to ride with are not into the endurance thing (or getting to the trail at 7 am) so they don't ride with me anymore. (Going down rockit every weekend isn't going to help me for VQ very much.) I ride a road bike a couple mornings a week, and have a trainer that I do intervals on. I'm really trying to take this event very seriously, and make sure all aspects of my fitness and equipment are covered. (I won't ever ride my bike without my HR monitor it's that bad.) I'm not saying I'm fast, just that I collect alot of data about every ride and I never give up.

Going down Holy Jim this morning I met some people also training for CC. It seems alot of people are training for this event and its making for an exciting community.

My only goal for the VQ is to finish without irrepairable numbness damage to my "saddle area", and not to cry too much when I finish. I had some bad results / luck at the last 2 Warrior's Society races so I'm hoping to turn things around at the VQ and have a great base fitness for the summer events.

    See you on the trails.
    Tony

Yup that was me...\\:D/ I tell ya, the MC rides much better with some suspension. I ran the Reba at 85mm for the first 3 weeks, but stretched it out to 100mm the other day. Now it just flies down the rough trails.

I will get some pics up this week.
