I am hoping to do pre-lunch ride before meeting a friend in Mission Viejo and this route from Geoladders looks interesting. Is there anything I need to be on the lookout for? Any closures?
From google earth, it looks mainly like fireroad.

Part of that is no longer open - the area on the West side of Coto next to the toll road is usually blocked by a locked gate and, from what I hear, patrolled. If you want to make it a loop, you'll need to keep heading down Tijeras Creek Trail to Las Flores, then pedal up Oso Parkway to continue that loop. The upside is that gets you some nice singletrack. Downside is it's a bit further with more pavement.

Bigtex- I wish I read your post this morning!! I had to bypass that section and ended up doing part of Tijeras and rode Oso. Next time I will check STR before I head out the door....otherwise it was fun on new dirt!!
