I would highly doubt that any promoter would list the registered riders.

First off, if the participation is low, by listing the number of registered riders, could steer potential participants away.....who wants to race if you are only one in your class or only 1 other.

Geoladders has it as a group ride on their site. Looks like a number of that site's users are riding it, including some pretty fast guys... I'm starting to think it might be fun to watch and see how quick some of these guys go up that thing.

And fast girls! :p Since they are requiring a 5 person min/category for prizes, I really think there should be a prize for the top female finishers. Lame. It's very rare that the female categories fill up!

Just signed up, the 'm' worked for me, but I am not listed yet (probably gets updated every night or something). This should be good! If you sign up now you also get a free R&R Camelback water bottle when you pick up your packet (these things are nice!)

Surf City Cyclery was the first shop they contacted for sponsorship of this event, and we're giving away 10-$50 Gift Cards to the winners. Don't quite know how they're being distributed, but I'm sure Kirk from SAW Productions will have that task well in hand. This should be a pretty cool event, but it's really up to you, the prospective racers. Always fun to race your friends, but when there's money on the line, then it's even more fun! Surf City Cyclery will have tent and free tech support for those with last minute bike issues.

Oops...I can't believe I made that mistake. It's ironic that I just read this tonight as I rode Blackstar today and was feeling great about my time until I saw the top female made the climb gate-to-gate in 51 minutes. I doubt I'd ever be able to match that! Kudos. And I agree there should be a top female finisher award; it's crazy / stupid if they don't.

 Carl - have I scared away the competition yet? j/k Prize or no prize, I plan to do it. Keith and I have been riding it 2-3 times a month these past few months, so I might as well ...

A promoter goes through all the hard work to put on a race in our back yard and the haters come out in force. If you don't want to race it, fine, do Whiting and quit the whining.

Just wanted to say that I know Kirk the promoter of this event and he has put a lot of hard work and time into getting it organized. As Jordan stated if you are not interested in riding it don't but there is no reason to be bashing it. For the people that have signed up have a great time and be safe.
