Hi, curious if anyone has ridden Chesebro since it rained like a mofo last Sat? Just wondering if Palo Comado, Sheep Corral, Cheeseboro Canyon FR and Sulphur Springs were too muddy or rideable. :?:

Couple of us are thinking of riding tomorrow night but if it's still muddy, we'll ride Space. Would appreciate it if anyone has any recon.

Remote recon: There hasn't been any drying weather so expect to get muddy.

I think Big Sycamore will be fast and perfectly softened for your STR rampage weekend if it does not rain

I checked the main canyon which is the worst place after a rain. It has dried well - some wet spots but no sticky mud! The equestrians chewed up the fireroad but MTB's have begun to wear a smoother trail through it all. Good to go, but cold.

Due to logistics, we ended up scratching Chesebro and 3 of us (Me, N4th4n & Jmoe29er) decided to ride Space. Oh, and what fun that was. The trails were in GREAT shape. Absolutely perfect! Not 15 minutes into the ride Jmoe busted the derailleur hanger as he was climbing Space so he had to cut his ride short. N4th MacGyver'ed his setup so he could singlespeed back. I kept going and N4th met me at the top. The climb was the usual grind but the pay-off (the fast ride down Space) was soooo worth it. Oddly enough, we ran into LOTS of mtbr's and had to slow it up a couple times. Probably close to 6-8 which is unusual in itself on Space on a cold night. I guess people were just trying to get some pedaling in before the rains on Fri and Sat. I'll be back Sunday!!! If you have a hankerin' for a good climb and swift rocky descent, hit up Space before the rains.

Trail Conditions in the Conejo Valley?

Anyone been out in the Conejo Valley (Los Robles, Cheeseboro, etc...) since the rain slacked off? Just curious about trail conditions in the early morning.

    Thanks!
    Chris

It rained again yesterday and was REALLY wet with fog this morning, so I'm going to give it another day or two before I hit chesebro.

Everything out here is in great shape. The first 50 yards from the Wendy Trailhead into Sycamore is one of the very few bad spots and that's probably OK by now. Early mornings have been damp and foggy.

Space is one of the few out this way that can be ridden shortly after rain
