Chili Dog Ride 6/16

Wow, 76 views on this thread, and not a single person saying they think this would the slightest bit fun.

Just keeping that pesky "unread posts" count under control.

However, I think this would be the slightest bit fun.

We could have a Sprout Ride for all you hippies too. Perhaps a Milk of Magnesia Ride or Pepto Bismol Ride for all you diarrhea people.

It doesn't matter what we eat, it only matters that we climb to a peak, plateau, flat spot, etc. eat some prepared food (no Clif Bars), shoot the bull for an hour, and ride back down (with lights).

I like chilli dogs, that would suck though if the chilli disagreed with me on the way down eh!!!

Not a bad idea though royta, how bout you plan it, and we'll think about riding it. ;o)

I was actually thinking of how to transport the cooking stuff and food. I guess the "hauler" would need one of those single wheel trailers.

Or we could go up Black Star and eat at Beeks Place. A support truck could drive up Skyline to met us.

I was thinking the exact same thing, except for the support truck part. I'd probably be riding up from the Skyline side. I haven't ridden Blackstar, but if it's anything like Skyline, it's not bad at all. I'm wondering if I could do it with cooking gear in my small backpack.

I once rode into an area with a 2700 cu in backpack loaded to the gills. I had a small sluice box (30"ish x 6"ish) and other gear to pan with. My buddies dad and I poached some trail in the Marble Mountain Wilderness to find some color in one of the streams we heard a rumor about. It's a trip riding with a lot of weight on your back.
