Ride Report Car Wreck - Aliso Wood Canyon! Opening ride

so rattle snake vs car wreck wich one is more technical?

Rattlesnake has chunkier rocks but it also has more "P" lines so easily can get around them if you choose to. Car Wreck does not. Ride it or walk it, you are going to go through the rock garden like it or not.

Ok those Photos show alot more detail than the other ones looks alot steeper, also looks less chunky than rattle snake ridge, can't wait to ride it ...........noobb question what are "P" lines

anyone know the story on how the car actually got there??

What is now a trail was a road 40-50 years ago, maybe more? Someone's car didn't make it out the bottom. If anyone knows what year that car is, that might be an indication of the trails age....

^^^ Thanks for the Map "El Cap"... I'll try to ride it on Friday, and maybe add oaks as an extra credit depending on the weather ;)

i converted the files to mpeg so the quality is much better! Hopefully this gives a better feel for the trail.
On Youtube you can watch at 480p
So is that what PO looks like? I'll have to stay out of the bushes, haha

Thanks for all the pics and videos. Can't wait to try this trail out. Great addition to the already awesome park.

Haha I like his narrating. He does it in all his videos. I am a bit bias as I like to make noises or talk as well, haha

Im amazed at how many people dont ride the easiest/best line right after the car and next to the tree.

Its crazy how pictures and video don't show how steep this trail is. The trail is very loose, steep, chunky, and rocky. Rode it today and had to dabble twice because of line choice. Nice addition to Aliso.

here's a reverse shot just for the heck of it. this was my first day on this trail...

I rode this trail last week, the middle section is nasty.

This video might help riders wanting to know what the trail is like, I found the video on You Tube, I dont know the rider.

Yep this guy is fast wears good protection minus knee pads but I gotta love the naration that a 4" or 5" suspension bike shouldn't ride this trail or that a hard tail couldn't make it. Guess he didn't see the opening day riders that included a hard tail. In the old days thats all we had was hard tails and you learned weight shifts, picking lines and using your body for suspension. Yea can a 6 inch travel handle bigger bumps but he didn't wash out on that crash. He t-boned a rock without unweighting the front end then bit the dust. All that said he smoked his first ride on car wreck, I liked his video naration and all.
