We'll make this the official thread for this race.

I'll be there racing that weekend. I'm 99% sure the course will run along the left side of the paved road as it has the past 2 Cal State races.

    So who's going?

I'll be there. I'm not particularly anxious to sprint along the wall twice, but I am looking forward to breaking in my new rig. I hope what they say about green being 20% faster is true.

Nice lookin rig Marshall. By the looks of it, you should be able to go fast enough on the upper section, so that you can just coast along the wall!

As always, look for the Incycle tent.

    Beautiful Sunday!

I may also be devirginizing a new bike at that race. Heck, my first time on it may be during practice the morning of the race.

Jason, since you're the gold standard in the class I will probably be competing in, what do you ride? What about tires?

Well, see now I feel like I have to defend myself. As soon as I finished the race last Sunday, I was being called sandbagger. In the SRC races (races at Fontana, put on by SRC) I race in the Vet Pro class. At NORBA sanctioned events, there is not a Vet Pro class, so I have to either race Expert, or Semi-Pro. I choose to race Expert, since that is where I am most competitive. The race last weekend was my first win ever, so I am not a sandbagger. What I am getting at, is that I will be racing the Vet Pro class on June 3rd, and I really like the Maxxis Minions front and rear. One more useful tip for Fontana, run as much air as possible, comes in handy when pedaling the wall. Last Saturday, I was running 40 psi in the front, and 45 psi in the rear.

Hey! Go for it! I tried this course (beg./sport version mind you  ) as my first dh race ... and it was a blast! I got my full-face helmet for $38 bucks at Walmart. It's a Bell x-games helmet. It meets all safety regulations. It's a great helmet. Some dh-er at Performance in LA gave me the tip. Walmart also has pads.

BTW, Sharky and I are thinking of doing some dh practice fontana style next Wednesday! Anybody game?

Funny you should mention it, but yeah, been thinking on it really hard. Unlike gurp, I'm not going to let a complete lack of skeeelz keep me from my appointed wreck. Hells no! My Momma didn't raise no finisher.

Btw, Jenson has some 661 "Strike" full-faces on closeout right now. $87. Don't know if that's a deal or not.
