Bridge at the Luge - The additional planking to extend the new bridge to a total length of 12' is all prepped for installation.
Should be an easy install and should take less than an hour. New planking is pre-drilled and countersunk, and set up with wheels and handles to roll it to the site. All we need to do is drive-in 33 lag screws and were done. I have 4 ratchets ready to go.

I'll be at the Cooks parking lot between 7:30 and 7:45 tomorrow morning and would like to get started by 8:00. I'd like to finish the bridge and start riding by 9:15 to Old Camp.

If you would like to help out and ride in the morning, e-mail me; post here; or just show up at Cooks in the morning.

I'll be the one with a 12' bridge in a 6' truck bed ;)

See ya tomorrow.

I just did the STT run today and it was a great ride. Rode all the way to Old Camp and back down the luge. 17 moles total. Saw that bridge that was just put in are you just going to make a bit longer or replacing it with a better one?

Bridge

We're going to overlay it with three more 2 x 8 planks 12' long. This will extend the length of the bridge by 16" on the entry side, and 32" on the exit side.

The extra length plus some ground staking will assure that the bridge should be able to withstand some substantial weathering.

33 additional 3-1/2" lag bolts for the planking and an additional 2 x 2 added to the side rails should make for a very beefy bridge. The bridge will now have a full 3" of decking over 4 x 4 cross-members.

If you ride the Luge after 9:00am tomorrow, you'll see the new extension.

See ya

That bridge looks awesome. I think I can speak for everyone that rides STT when I say "Thank you!!"

I added your topic to the calender. Remember you can add new topics to the calender. Here's how
