RR: Blackstar/Motorway Oct. 1st
The main group was me, Craig, Jeffry, Dell, Matt (diggs), Brandon (brad), Mark, Justin, Keith, Andrew, and of course Steve. SORRY but I forget the name of the dude on the trek fuel. We hooked up with Andy, Annie and their crew at the start of the blackstar climb but didn’t see them again.
The climb up Blackstar to beek's wasn't bad. We regrouped there and Craig snuck a rock into Steve's camelbak to slow that sucker down a bit. But apparently one month off the bike slowed him enough because he quickly joined the granny gear club on some of the first steep/loose climbs. We told him we had a present for him and showed him the rock. Got it on video too \\
/.
We regrouped once more in the middle of the main divide climb. Andrew had broken a rear spoke moments before that but was able to adjust his wheel enough to be able to finish the ride. There were some walkers on the last few steep climbs before Motorway but we managed and regrouped once more at the start of the motorway. Steve had a flat halfway down the motorway and took a nice sliding crash after hitting the jump at the bottom :bang:.
Weather was nice to us all day, never got too hot or too cold. Props to brandon for tackling the ride on a 2:1 SS. Nice to finally ride with ya. It was cool meeting keith too, I look forward to seeing the pics you took. Thanks to everyone who came out and suffered with us .
I'll throw up some of my own photos after a nap.
Oh ya . . . I'm signing up for CC and not VQ this year.
