Aww we're just ribbing you Mr. Hairybikefred!Sorry about being the hairy guy in the Bibs. My jersey an and pack got soaked carrying some beer. It had to come off to dry. I'm sure there are guys on STR with more of a fur-shirt than I have.
for the people who I really offended, I'd blame the people who didn't get enough of me in person, but just had to share by taking and posting numerous pics
If you wear Oakley or other unlined shorts, you should at least consider wearing bibs under them. They are waaay comfy.
Let me know if you ever want to get that mess waxed! I'm sure Shannon would be up for it. Or my gardner with his weed wacker!

Excellent ride everyone!! Thanks to Dean and Gene for mule-ing up the beer and snacks, and to Jeff ( I believe..) with the cookies. The sunset up there was great. Pam got a good shot of Tim pinching the sun, wait til she post and you'll understand...Good to have a ride with all smiling people talking the whole way up and down. We didn't set any land speed records but that wasn't the point. A couple crashes, a couple flats - all par for the course and I'm sure we wouldn't trade it for anything. Good job Mark for pushing past the pain and making it all the way with a smile - most of the time. Pam's over-the-bars maneuver could have been painful but she rolled out of it just fine. A 9.6 score for that dismount. Good to have Danny/BigHit8 back in the saddle after a couple weeks off getting his business and new home all dialed in. One of the many cool things about STR is that you're missed when gone and welcomed warmly when returning.

Gabe and I have a huge problem with being punctional so when we actually arrived to my parents on time they were not prepared for us! That's what we get. We left there about 6 and didn't think we'd be on the trail in time. Reallly bummed we missed this. We ended up driving up to the top of the 2nd B and hiking up to the big rock look out. There were tons of people out there. Not the same as being with friends though.
Hi everyone... I have some fun pictures and a hilarious video to post but I was kidnapped at 9:30am this morning and The Kidnapper says I wont get home until after 5 - Looking forward to posting the pictures and I had a blast. I am also looking forward to Gene's RR. Also....... I need a little guidance on how to post the video so if someone can PM me and let me know how I would do it I would appreciate it. Oh and it needs a small edit.

Good riding with everyone. It was a fun mellow pace up Black Star. I guess next time we'll leave it earlier especially if I decide to carry a backpack full of beers, ice, crackers and hummas.
It was a nice evening and the views were great. The fireworks were somewhat at a distant but were going off in so many places, it was still cool to see.
Pam, Tim and I went to Cook's after to have a beer and it was totally dead there. We did have a bit of entertainment from 1 person, pretty funny stuff, but what happens at Cook's, stays at Cook's. You just had to be there. :lol:

Guess he didnt get the memo about the road missing or he thought he could fly over since he was powered with cervesa! I saw him yesterday and I begged him if I could take carnage pictures and he wouldn’t let me. He is all scrapped up, his back, legs, arms, back of his neck. He looks like a giant raspberry.

Magnificent evening, great weather, gorgeous views and fun times!
I started out at 5:20 and made it to the top by 7:20. I thought if I started 30 min to an hour before everyone else the group would catch me and then I wouldnt be holding anyone up. I guess I was tooo quick for everyone I rode all the way up by myself. It was my first solo ride and I thoroughly enjoyed it. When I got to the first grate I stopped for a little rest. Then a cute little kitty walks 20 feet in front of me, so I grab my cell phone to figure out what to do. I had heard there were baby mountain lions in the area. I was slightly concerned that it might be a 'teenager' mountain lion and the mommy was near by. The cat just walked right by me, across my path and wandered off. It wasnt even afraid of my decorated helmet. After a while I figured out it was a bobcat because it had black ears. So I turned up my ipod, sang really loud and road on! Peacefully I rode the rest of the way up and had 20 minutes of peace and quite at the top before the party started...
First up (well after me) was Jeff carrying the cookies I made and beer. What a trooper!

For Pete's sake, Fred...don't listen to her. Consider the source (a woman) and ignore given advise by anyone with a female gender. Keep in mind, women have a frighteningly high pain tolerance (i.e. giving birth) and we, as men, will never comprehend the levels of dark pain they can tolerate or withstand. I think I'm qualified when I say it hurts more then the nastiest road rashes with the biggest difference being the pain from waxing usually subsides once you come to and clear the tears of pain out of your eyes. Road rashes takes weeks to heal. :lol:
