Black Star to the Motorway

Come on guys this is an awsome loop and we need to get some good rides in b4 Christmas.

Ummm.....ok, explain why it is awesome please :?: I don't like that end of Main Divide very much, a HJ/Trabuco loop sounds like way more fun to me!

13 miles of fireroad to ride 3 miles or so of ST is not awesome in my book either. I'd rather do HJ to Trabuco any day. Have fun though Matt and Kippie, and let me know how it was.

You forgot about the 5 miles of pavement too [-(

Its a great training ride. If you push hard on the hills on the main divide then u can get good interval training in. Motorway is awsome. The Pavement does suck. And its the first 19 miles of the pow wow and its good to be familiar with the coarse.

I like doing the blackstar ride, my main thing is doing rides with loads of climbing.

anyone can bomb down a trail, but it's the climbing that seperates the different classes of mountain bikers. my first 10 or so years of MTBing it was all about the DH, but later on i grew to like climbing more and more.

Blackstar is a great training ride, try doing the whole thing on SS or on the middle ring for the gearies, that's a challenge!!!!

middle ring: done along with MapleSprings and Harding

you wana join us Epic?? George??

Matt,

hey there. my name is Kam. I rode with you on your first lap in the 6hrs of OC. I was on a grey 29er SS. Great job there!!!

Are you doing the CC or VQ?

I am signed up for the VQ. I signed up for a geary bike, but hopefully Chris can switch me to SS.

I will probably ride the B-M loop on Sun, but start at 7am (I will either ride the B-M loop or a long Topanga St Park loop). I will come down Motorway and then head up Maple. I need to be back at my car at about 11:30 so I will probably ride as far as I can 'til about 11am and then just turn around and head down Maple (I think in 4 hrs I can atleast get to the dirt part of Maple, hopefully I can get to 4-corners if I really push hard).

I also wanna hit up that Path parking lot sale....check out some goodies for myself and my trusty steed.

Oh, and be sure to check the forecast before the ride. We did the B-M loop last weekend....oh man....it was freakin' windy!!!! i was surprised that no one hit me over the head with a beer bottle for coming up with that ride that weekend.

cheers!!!

Hey Kam!
Good job at 6 hours man 6 hours on a ss is nuts. Id meet you at 7 but the i have no way of contacting the guy im meeting there. sry. lets plan another ride. I'm going to do Vison Quest. I might stop at the Path Sale too.
Matt

Damn. Middle ringing Black Star to Motorway has to be tough! I doubt there are many riders that can do it. It will be interesting to see how you do (if you are doing VQ).

I disagree with ya on that one. I see many cross country guys blow by me on the climbs, but then they are walking the technical sections (the most fun sections in my opinion) of the trails. Each person obviously has their own favorite part of riding, but to say "anyone can bomb down a trail" is pretty far fetched in my book.

Great ride today. Good pace too. It took about two hours and twenty minutes. We ran into singlespeedster on top Motorway. Motorway was awsome. After the ride i rode home and that was like the hungriest ive ever been in my life. I could barely ride. The last 800 m of climbing to get to my house felt like forever. I felt like i was going to collapse when i got home, casue i was hungry. Bret, Rob i f i would a stopped at cooks i prolly woulda ordered like 4 r 5 burgers. lol.

We did Whiting/Luge instead because so many guys couldn't make the ride.
