I will make one change in my pre ride habit and put a lighter in all of my packs . I can light a fire for heat, or light a tire on fire for a signal fire.

Here is the flyer she made for his service this saturday and her request:

"I would like to get bike riders to join us from the church to the cemetery riding on their bikes. its only two miles, but that would be something special"

I think It would make her feel a lot of support and love if we could get a really large group together to participate in the funeral cortege. Lets make this happen. What time do you think they will be rolling? Possibly around 12???

    Andres Marin memorial at skyline..

I just came down from a 2 hour ride up to skyline trail, and i noticed i white bike chained to the gate, i didnt pay much attention to it, but when i finished riding and getting off my bike to pass the gate i took a close look at the bike, and to my surprise its a memorial white bike with the name Andres Marin on the frame... i took a couple minutes paying respect to our fellow mtbker... in a previous post i said next time i go up to skyline it will be in his memory.. well today was the day :)

I am currently on the phone with our hero who rode the moto and found Poncho.
For those interested in participating in the funeral ride from the church to the cemetery please meet at the church at 12:30 ready to ride. This ride will be on the streets and about 2 miles. Bring the bike ready to ride to show support.
St Edward Catholic Church is located at 417 West Grand Blvd. Corona 92882
    thanks

My first time to chime in here after I just returned from a business trip. The story broke actually just as I left. That night i kept reading and I was sooo bummed to hear how it played out.

Lots of talk for blame going on but what stands out the most is all the support from STR and other bikers. I love how something like mountain biking gets people helping people, so glad to see. I have kids and wow I forever will look at rides a little differently, and be more prepared. Thanks to all those sending donations, its the best we can do to help the family now.
