http://blog.pe.com/breaking-news/2014/03/02/cleveland-national-forest-biker-missing-on-18-mile-ride/ A 34-year-old mountain biker is missing in the Cleveland National Forest near Corona where sheriff’s officials are asking bikers and hikers to keep an eye out for him.
Andres Marin began a planned 18-mile ride about 7 a.m. Saturday, March 1, from the Skyline Trailhead in Corona.
“About 5:30 pm., Marin telephoned home and said he was lost, but would try to make it down the hill before it got dark,” Lt. Zachary Hall said in a written statement. “About 6 p.m., a search for Marin was initiated.”
But the all-night search turned up no signs of the missing biker.
Search teams are continuing to look for Marin, using off-road vehicles, horses and a helicopter.
Marin is about 5-feet-6 and 155 pounds. He left home wearing a black jacket and blue pants. He was riding a blue and black Giant mountain bike and may have a small yellow-and-black backpack.
Anyone with additional information may call the command post at 951-204-0967.

Because they don't know any better. Please stop discriminating against people of lesser intelligence. Like Lady Gaga said, they were born that way.

What 18 Mile ride can you do from skyline? Skyline-B*-skyline (more like 24 by my calculations)? Skyline-ITT??

You've never been out riding when conditions where a little iffy? I know I certainly have, yesterday wasn't too bad......but its really easy to lose your way in the fog....a real good friend of mine and strong rider once started up skyline, got lost in the fog, and ended up at Blue Jay Campground and his wife had to go pick him up in Lake Elsinore

Hopefully this guy also gets found real soon.

The Skyline-Main Divide-Eagle loop is about 20 miles.......

A friend who lives off of weirick road posted a picture of where the emergency crews setup from this morning. He went down to check it out and was told what happened.

That sucks. It's soooo easy to get lost, even in your own backyard. Worst weather of the year too. How tragic for his family. In spite of all of that, I think it's better to expire due to your own mistakes than it is getting mowed down from behind while riding in a bike lane or shoulder. Either scenario sucks for family and friends. R.I.P. Andres Marin.
