This will be my first century and my first road bike event, pretty excited about it. Anyone else doing it?
Looks like a nice route, take some sunscreen with you, it will be SUNNY and HOT. Do you plan on any pre-ride of the route?, if so I might join in for that.
I'm off the bike until the 16th, well at least no long rides. How about doing the metric century route on Sunday the 17th? Or perhaps convince the path Sunday morning road ride to do this route: http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=T...rsp=9&sz=13&via=1,2,3,4,6,7,8,9&z=11&lci=bike
I think you both need to do this: http://www.ocwheelmen.org/page/show/424130-about-the-ride next weekend. There is still space available.
A buddy of mine just talked me into doing it, so I'm in. The course seems pretty mellow with the bulk of climbing coming through Santiago Canyon, which isn't much. Should be fun.
Man, wow, that goes right by my house. This is the first I've heard of this ride. No riding it for me this year - I'll be at the hospital with my <1 day old newborn then.
Thinking about it. Some pretty gnarly climbing. Last big hill is from Baby Beach, Dana Point, up to the Chart House. Ouch! Jeff
OK...this is on the calendar. As long as my wife is not in labor, I'll be there. I can do the pre ride as well. Let me know when and I'm in.
