Big group Ride

Hey dont forget about the Bikes and Beer ride on May 15th. I went to it last year and it was awesome! Heres some info about it:

THE PATH BIKE SHOP "BIKES AND BEERS" RIDE
What: An annual tradition of riding and socializing.
When: Sunday, May, 15 at 8:30 a.m.
Where: The Path Bike Shop parking lot.
Wisdom: Meet at 8:30 a.m. for coffee and rally in the parking lot 'till around 9 a.m.. Ride ends at The Tustin Brewery where we will hang out on the patio and they will give us a deal on beer and pizza.

Disclaimer: Mountain biking can be dangerous. The Path, it's ownership, staff and affiliates are not responsible for you on this ride. This is a casual event. There will be no official ride leaders, or course marshals. The course is not marked, nor is it specific. There are many variations, and some people will do extra loops. If you do not know the area, ride with someone who does. If you need to be introduced to someone who knows the area, and/or who will be riding at your level, just let us know.

The general course: Exit The Path parking lot and make a right on B Street. Make a right on Irvine Blvd. Left on Tustin Ranch Road. Left on Pioneer. Follow the horse trails to the Peters Canyon South entrance. Through Peters Canyon. Up Jamboree to Santiago Oaks. Up the three spiteful hills. Down towards Irvine Park. Back to The Tustin Brewery.

Note: It is recommended that you ride to this event. If you are driving, it is a good idea to leave your car with a change of cloths in the parking lot of The Tustin Brewery before the ride.

Im planning on going on that ride.

I'll be at the Path ride.

It's a really fun ride. If anyone else is going let me know and we'll meet up there at the shop.

Here’s a thought :-k

Maybe we should pick a set time every month for a monthly club ride. (1st Sat, 3rd Sun, etc…).

That way everyone can pre-plan their schedule ahead of time, and all we have to do is rotate the venues. This will give the members something to look forward to each month, and would encourage new members to get involved with the group. Plus it will encourage members to try out new trails.

This way we could calendar in the rest of the year’s group gatherings.

Also, I’ll start putting the races and events on the ride-calendar so we can really start using the ride-calendar feature on this site to stay informed and plan out our events.

Any suggestions on a set day of the month for a monthly club ride?

Also a note of information. It looks like Maple Springs will be open until around late June so we can enjoy the Maple Springs/Motorway loop for another 6 to 8 weeks.

I like your idea Adam, did you mean to have more than one group ride each month though? Having a couple each month, one on a Saturday and one on a Sunday would be nice since I'm sure some of us can't make it on either day (I work Saturdays). Also since it will be getting hotter and hotter I vote for fairly early start times.

Nope.....I figure one club ride per month would be good. We should just try to settle on a specfic day so everyone knows that we will be getting together the same time each month.

How come you always have the best ideas, JamR? :-k

What about us churchgoers? Church is on sunday you know...

What about like 9 on saturdays... not too early so the far away people can make it.
