I'm a lurker here on the board. I was able to get a few runs in on Saturday while I was in the area for a friends Bday. Just want to say thanks to Matt and Danny (sorry, If I got your name wrong) for letting me tag along on some runs. Had a blast and it was cool meeting you guys.

Riding big bear with everyone was awesome! The weather was perfect and most of the trails were in excellent condition. Can't wait for the next trip up there.
lets go again asap Im already havn withdraws :-/
I took a couple of runs with an eleven year old and his father both on hard tails i think it is 2n57 a fire road to the right off the lift near the bottom it hits a bit of single track back to the lift in front of a few cabins.this looks soo much fun - i have never ridden there
So I am thinking of bringing my 9 year old up - he is pretty good for his age and I figure it should be fun if we stay on the xc trails. Any thoughts? He has a crappy hard tail - you think it will be fine if I throw some wider tires on there or is it worth renting a FS bike? Just curious if anyone has gone with younger kids - he is all excited to go but my wife is on the fence....
