Looking for help finding beginner trails in the inland empire. Specifically near Ontario/Rancho area. I tried Southridge on Thursday and it was to downhill for me. I am really just looking for mild single tracks to get in shape on. Need to be able to get there within 30 minutes from Ontario so I can beat the Sunset after work.

Thanks if you can help.

Ride Claremont Hills Wilderness Park and then graduate to the singletrack down Marshall. CHWP is a 5 mile fire road loop and Marshall intersects at the top.

Sycamore Canyon is a bit further from you, but very beginner friendly. You can park in different locations to add or remove climbing. You can also graduate to harder trails as the main trail is very easy, but the side trails are more difficult. Also, you can stop by JensonUSA and spend all of your money.

The best place that is close to you is Claremont..... Off of Baseline go up Mills... Park and ride.... Plenty to do up there... Burbank, Cobal, Marshall Canyon, Evey, Potato Mtn.... all of them in the area and accessible from where you park at the end of Mills and Mt. Baldy Rd. Enjoy.

I new about Sycamore and planned on hitting that up as soon as the days get longer. Did not know about Claremont. That sounds like a fun option. Thanks for the help.

Southridge has flat trails which are just behind the housing tract on the north side of the mountain. You can ride from Cherry all the way to Sierra all on dirt with almost no climbing. Look for the trail that runs along the drainage culvert then it continues along the wall then along the street heading east.

Rode both Claremont and Sycamore. Loved Sycamore but the ride up from Central entrance hurt a bit. I guess I need to build up the legs and lungs more than I thought. Thanks again for the suggestions.

Park at JensonUSA, the bike store/warehouse, then ride around the warehouse to the trailhead. Plus no hills to climb to play on the fun stuff there and the east-side of Sycamore has almost no hikers/dogs on it either.

This is very true. Hill repeats and you get a choice of left side (steeper) and right side (longer). About 300ft per trip up. Last time i was there, even the trail walkers were very friendly. Just watch the corners on the way down.

I did not know you could ride on Mt Rubidoux. I always loved hiking it and it is a little closer than Sycamore. Thanks
