Rode Golden Eagle about a week ago by myself, finally got a new transfer cable for my trail camera to upload these:
    bear_tracks_on_GE.jpg
I rode about 100 yards towards the first Shrub Tunnel before I realized I was looking at Bear Tracks.8-[
It's those shiny footprints heading the same direction I was. I was by myself and usually I don't freak out over things like this but for some reason it spooked me to go into the tunnels. So I turned around and hit the Fire Road the rest of my ride up to the top..
    bear_paw_print_GE.jpg
It was around 11:00am so the sun was fairly up and it did not make for good contrast in the pictures but the paw print was way bigger than my hand :-s.
    bear_foot_my_foot_GE.jpg
Every bit as long as my foot...and the prints were the freshest on the trail. Maybe last night? I hoped?

It's amazing how you kinda forget about it and go on your way as time passes. Got to the top, took a snapshot of a view towards Acton/Aqua Dulce,
    yeti_antelope_valley_GE.jpg
and another looking out over the Antelope Valley, then headed back on the fire road. Cut in halfway on the singletrack and bombed down towards the Shrub Tunnels. No problems, but I couldn't help look over my shoulder a couple of times on the way down... I hate riding alone!

Of course I shave my legs! Arms too! Shaw! As if!?!? Only way I can look like I have muscles...
    Documented Facts:
    1. Ticks don't grab on to my leg hairs.
    2. Scabs heal faster.
    3. It shows off my muscular hammy's
    4. But most importantly, my legs feel really good in a summer dress.
You should try it Liz. :)

Liz. When we gonna ride together!?!?!?

It's all about the "Thanks Earned" big guy. When you're white trash like me, your WHITE Trash. :?:

I couldn't get the bear to put on the watch! (Or the damn helmet.)

    . . . . . I knew I could count on YOU guys for meaningful commentary. At least I posted pics this time . . .

    I'm calling BS.
Along with that "new" Yeti above, you've probably also picked up a new carbon fiber road bike, and a matching one piece kit...
Ugggh, I don't even know you.

Let me know if you need Gary's number.

And considering this little guy was wandering around Santa Clarita, I'm not surprised. ;)

This is exactly why I just shaved down after years of keeping it hairy! Those little suckers creep me out and I had a good one dig in just a few days ago. Bye Bye leg hair.

I THINK Mythbusters determined we can't claim that one.

commplex ~ We're talking about Ticks, not Crabs.;) Get with Kyle M, he has some awesome full length hawaiian summer dresses I'm sure he'll let you borrow. He shaves his whole body during the summer, keeps it to himself. Puts on one of those dresses and goes hitchhiking. Said something about how he likes the feel of cool cotton against his shaved legs . . . I don't know what he's talkin' bout.#-o:lol:

Well . . . as you can see, this Post went in the toilet immediately. As well, how often does the OP steer away from the original content. I'm sure that's not a first, but heh...

There is a ride goining on at GE on Saturday (Some Dirt Bags). Be careful, have fun!

I ran into big ass tracks up the trail by Cow Springs (out past Dough Flat). They were wide enough to put both my boots in and see toes on each side. We camped at Alder Creek and that sucker came right down to our camp, harassing us all night. You have some big ass bears in your neck of the woods.

Face them down, you cannot out run them. They are INCREDIBLY strong. Look for the biggest rocks you can throw, and throw some, keep the rest as backup.

    Happy Trails
