Can someone give me an idea how long the trail takes from Cow Canyon Saddle to Marshall? Miles/time ??? Think it's the same Turkey Ride route?? Gonna have my friend drop me at the Saddle but if anyone wants to go during the week in the afternoon hit me up??:D Maybe someone who has done it before...
Won't know for sure when till a day or two before but can post it if anyone might be able to go:-k
(3ish? possibly 9/6 or 9/7) HAVE TO KEEP THIS A WEEKDAY RIDE DUE TO WORK...TOO BUSY ON WEEKENDS...AUGH!!

It's ~16 miles from the saddle to Wheeler Ave. You don't actually end up in Marshall Canyon. It takes you right into a residential area. There's probaby only 3-4 miles of actual uphill. If it were a weekend ride I'd be able to.

If I get a day off next weekday I would go. I am always looking for stuff I have not been on and this is one.

Dean

That would be great Dean!! Has been on my to do list. Friday might work also but waiting to see about work still. One of the local STR bikers I've ridden with might also be able to go and he knows the trail. We'll have a better idea next week so hope we can get a few folks...not many can ride weekdays :-s ....I'll keep my fingers crossed :)

I'll ride, as long as I am available to ride. Would be fun. And yes Chris, I would make sure to take what is needed for the knees before the ride :) You missed a great hockey game!!!

If you're talking about the weekend after Labor Day, I could probably swing a Friday ride. I've done this ride a dozen or so times and there is an option for getting down into the canyon and avoiding going through the residential area. It does require some pretty hairy riding down some pretty steep stuff, but most people can handle it. It's easier to ride then walk it. Climbing from Cow Saddle to Sunset Peak is the only real climb and it's fairly short. The descent is all fireroad unless you take my option. Total time to get down if you're in a hurry is about 1.5 hours. Fun ride.

PM'd ya and will post this ride next Tuesday when details can be set in stone. Your ideas sound like fun....can't get better without a few challenges ...right. ;)

I might be up for this ride if I'm not too hung over from hydrating at the race on Sun (Yee haaaa). Isn't there an option to drop down into Potato Mtn and out through Marshall? That sounds better than fireroad all the way down. I need my DH fix, starting to get the shakes.

I'm 50/50 for this week, but I'll give it my best whatever day you say Sharky. My assistant is on vacation next week and I'll have to see how it goes. If things are going good, I might have to take the dog ;) to the vet.

I'm interested in this ride. Whatever day works for everyone else is fine, my sch. is pretty flexible. I'd like to try to get started early to avoid the heat though.
