Road Trip?

The Arizona Spring Fling is just around the corner March 15 - 19. I've been wanting to check this out for a couple years. Sounds like some awesome rides for all skill levels. Anyone else up for riding something new?

Check it out. http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=165217

I can take 4 total in my truck and have the sweet hook up on hotels. Let's get a big STR crew to AZ.

What a coincidence. Was just tossing around ideas for a little getaway/new trail experience, and this would do nicely.

Putting in for the days off tomorrow. If I get 'em, I'm there.

If you can pull it off...do it, excellent trails! You will not be disappopinted, not that far of a drive.

I have been in Arizona all this week and have been riding in Sedona, Phoenix, and Prescott. Tommorow I am off to Albuquerque for a few more days of riding then back to Central Arizona for another 3-4 days before returning to So-Cal.

This sounds killer! I'll check that link out and look up what days those are, I can probably get them off!

Looks like fun. I can get these days off work, but school is another thing. I could leave Wed. night around 10. I'm 90% in.

Looks like fun when are you leaving and coming back.

Weather - Phoenix/Tucson could be from 60 - 90 just depends.
Prescott will likely still be pretty cool. 40-60?

When - I'd like to go every day. Let's see what kind of group we can get together and what days they can get off and make a decision then.

Most of what I have rode in Prescott, (Lynx Lake, Granite Mountain and Thumb Butte areas) is sweet buff single tract with scattered rocks gardens. The exception is Spruce Mountain, that is one tuff, steep, loose, ride, much like the Motorway with lots of big rocks, roots and log overs. If you come out do not miss Sedona. The downhill techincal stuff will be on South Mountain in Phoenix. It get cold out here at night, has been down in the 20's in Prescott. During the day has been in the 50's in Prescoot, little warmer in Sedona and warmer in Phoenix, maybe 65-70.

I am off to Otero Canyon today, it is about 15 miles east of Albuquerque. New-Mex is overcast and cold 32 degrees at 9am. I have been waiting until near noon before riding to let things warm up.

Cold

I am going back to Arizona, it is just too cold to enjoy riding in Albuquerque, Otero/Tunnel Canyons. It never got above 30 degrees on my ride today. The water was turning to sluch in my Camelback hose. Very nice single tract though.

I'm kicking around the idea of going as well. Due to employment constraints I could probably only go for Sat or Sun. ](*,) If anyone is similarly restricted let me know.

Glad to hear that others might be in the same boat. While I'd love to join in on the riding in Phoenix, I'd be supa-psyched for riding Sedona and Prescott.

I've got to work until 4 pm on 17 march. The good news is that it will be my last day at UCI. The bad news is that it will be my last day at UCI.

We should have time to scheme between now and then....8)
