I thought that was almost all wilderness areas up there, off limits???
I backpacked in San Jacinto with a backpacking class at school but I think we needed permits to camp there. About Astrocamp - my sophomore class in high school took a week long trip there and it was a lot of fun. Tons of activities and such. Looking back it seems like a good area for trails.
