Seems like a road trip is THE way to go. I just looked up flights with United Airlines.....$529, probably with an extra charge for a bike. #-o

Yeah no major airports in that area will make it expensive. I think the best option is if a decent # want to go is a truck with the bikes and then another vehicle for the rest of the people.

Like Robert said it is a really good event, the vibe is good Tita the organizer is awesome, the town has good lodging and food and some decent bars as well.

it is probably my favorite of all the events i do, i like it better then downieville for the fact that 95% of the time you can do runs with all your friends and there is no dust.

the course is not nearly as rough as downieville and it is do able on a hard tail but 4 to 6 inch travel bikes are the best.

there is also a chain less downhill as well... its a lot of fun as well.

If your thinking about doing the event you will need to pre sign for sure, last year it sold out....not downieville fast but still reached the capacity.

your best bet is rent a couple of vans.

After going back and forth on one of our trips to CO we rented a pair of vans instead of taking 4-6 vehicles.

Was more fun having the group together and we saved enough on gas even with the rental fees that we upgraded from Motel 6 to a better hotel on the 4 nights we didn't camp out.

And having the vans for storage when we did camp was also a big plus.

Super D is more like old school DH, basically All Mtn Racing but most of the course will be downhill.

Chainless DH is actually whats is sounds like you race the course with no chain. Its all about carrying speed and using terrain to increase speed.

    Thanks Mark --

Cool. I thought from Eric's wording that just some part of the course was run chainless (WTF?!?!), but with your explanation I now see he means it is an entirely separate race. Sounds fun (maybe more fun than an XC race???...) Thanks!
