Sup everyone...I want to explore some trails in LA County ..does anyone know of any good ones?

What are you looking for? A 12 mile loop of mild climb and mild technical. Or lung buster fireroad to screaming down cliff hanger high tech single track for a 28 mile loop.

santa monica mountains

Topanga canyon state park is a great place to ride it has some nice scenery, mainly fireroad, though, a large netwrok of trails there i wasa there saturday.

i start at caballero canyon off reseda blvd. then go everywhere from there.

turnbull is in LA county, that's a fun place to go, nice short climbs, nice downhill runs, good climbing there if you're into that.

marshall canyon is really good also, i did that yesterday, you can read my post on socalmtb.com

Let's Go!

I'm looknig for something not to far from Orange County. Turnbull is awesome! I go there a lot.

Does anyone want to ride Saturday?

bonelli county park

Bonelli is straight up the 57, it's has a nice network of trails. it's the site of the 24 hour race, you can mix it up pretty good there with challenging climbs and some nice downhill runs, not a lot of single track, and the west side tends to get real muddy, i haven't gone there yet since the rains, i just want to make sure it dries up pretty good before i go again.

Yeah bonelli is a good spot, I do it about every saturday or sunday(I live 10 min away..). You can get in 9 miles easy there. Last time I heard that it was flooded up to the north parking lots. That was two weeks ago, but the trail is probably still bad in some spots. It just seems to never dry after any rain.

Other places you might want to try is marshall cyn and claremont wilderness parks. Both fun places to ride.

marshall canyon and CWP are fun rides to do, i've mainly done that ride on monday nights with the Incycle bike shop guys from san dimas.

ever done Sunset Peak? it's off glendora ridge road just west of mount baldy village. you park at cow canyon saddle. check out the trailhead here: http://www.socalmtb.com/socal/trails/cowcanyo.htm

No I havent done sunset, but I have heard about it. I think the longest ride I did in CWP was going up Potato Mtn? I think that was the name of the trail but all I could remember was going up a long hill on the side of the mountain. We ended up going back down the other side to reach Baldy Rd and rode back to the cars on mills.

Does incycle do night rides also? I need to start getting in some more night rides but I have no one to ride with. (well most are too busy to go at night)

Monday night rides

meet at Incycle bike shop in San Dimas, at 6pm ready to ride on monday nights, we usually have a good turn out, we go to either marshall or bonelli, depending on the make up of the ability of the riders

we sometimes break up thegroup and have a fast pace and a medium pace group that goes up to Marshall, it's a fun night ride then we usually hang out at the red robin after.

i won't be there this monday, i'll be going to the public hearing for Tunbull Canyon, jan. 31st 2005
