Had to replace the wheels 6 rides in Spesh likes to save weight in the wheel department. Running Mavic 823s now. No problems since. Destroyed the drivetrain and now run XTR and XO. Love this bike. Heavy but will go anywhere. Had the shop order me the demo model for the cool burnt orange color.

here's my do everything rig, even race xc on it last week at big bear.

    its a 2008 stumperjumper 29er expert.

i lost the big chain ring and put on bash gaurd. lost the captain tires and put on ignitor in front and crossmark in rear. went tubless thanks to stans. put on longer travel and lighter manitou minute fork which works so much better than the reba. plus a new hope pro 2 hub to accomodate my 20mm thru axle. put 80mm thompson stem on. with that, plus the longer fork, it put the head tube angle around 68.5 which i think is the most slack head tube angle for any 29er. also the offset of the fork is bigger than the reba and it handle way better now. i am more confident going down hill but it feels like i can turn sharper than before.

this is last week on the tahoe rim trail

7 years, and thousands of dollars later. Only the seatpost clamp is original (frame replaced twice).

I can truly climb just about anything, and also survive 6 days of going semi-big in Whistler. Even got my first trophy (First place DH) at Sea Otter this year.

She's been good to me, but I'm getting an itch.....

Post your Rides - No criteria, just pictures!

Colloquial... yes, but good fun also. I havent seen a thread like this around here yet. Sorry if there is one, must have missed it. Post up your bikes: singlespeed, DH, AM, XC. Include builds, weights, pictures, future upgrades, whatever. Ill start it out. Cheers!

Trust me... There are more! #-o

I'm not normally a fan of adding another STICKY to the already overflowing list...
If we lumped them ALL into one "easy to find" location it could benefit us (i.e. build ideas, color ideas etc.). Would also give us a central location to find the finest bike pRon STR has to offer! Would increase the liklihood someone will post a pic of their bike... Could also strengthen friendships/loyalties (dw, ellsworth, giant, specialized, turner...4X/DJ, vintage bike owners)

    Just a thought! 8-[

Ditto, but imagine mine with a Joplin. Dude, when are you going to add a dropper seat post to your Mission; that beast practically begs for it.

I have other plans for her. I just ordered a EA70 Post to help lose the love handles. I want to make a light-weight rig that bombs and climbs with the best of them. Although, this thing climbs like a billy goat for a 6" bike.

It does climb like a dream. I can't be more happy with mine. Truth be told, though, I find that the adjustability of the joplin makes up for the weight it adds. And it doesn't add that much weight. The weight difference between the joplin and the EA70 aluminum post is well under a pound (about 300 grams).

If I was planning on using it strictly for a gravity machine I would definitely do it. But I have friends that I ride with almost every day that love to climb more then I do, but I have to keep up some how. And pushing 34 pounds around daily starts to wear on you.

I do have an XC rig as well, but for the days I feel like riding a little harder I bring out the mission. It makes me feel a little better when I fly past them on the downhill after they smoke me on the up.

XC is usually defined as single or double track riding, with not really any huge drop offs, big hits, etc. AM usually involves a lot of big drops offs, obstacles, TTFs, and other "big hits".
