Ok guys - we're gonna do a 60 mile ride. Start out with a 30 miles road ride and then up some really steep stuff.

O wait my name isn't Armando . . . :lol: JK!! Sorry armando!

But yeah - Aliso Thursday. All you ladies and dirt monkeys are welcome. Not sure on time, open to suggestions. So far it's me and Matt (ocrider).

BTW - will Aliso be open? If not we can always do something else? Maple Springs?

I think I'd be up for something like that! :bang:

I'd cast my vote for Maple Springs cause I don't think Aliso will be open by then...it felt like we gotz tons o'rain down here...even up till this morning.

I don't know their current status, but hopefully those mountain streams will have receded by then! 8-[
 
It says 1.5inches right where Aliso is. This is the first storm so maybe it will all be soaked up by then.


I'll be able to ride Thursday anytime after 1:00PM

Hey Armando sorry for not making it to the big epic ride u had on the 30th. It looked like tons of fun!! wished I could have gone but work got in the mix!! maybe nextime.

btw guys, my friend Robert was wondering if we was up for a ride down his back yard!! I know Mando and Dino would luvv this ride b/c it has tons of crazy technical drops and lots of climbs too!! I will post something later on. This is his message w/a little info.

OK folks, it's almost that time of year again, so mark your calendars for Monday, January 16th. We got rained/snowed/flooded out last year, so I can't call it the fourth annual, but please join us for the the annual MLKJSPSR. This year are going to skip Red Box, and ride Sturtevant instead. It's not as much work as Red Box, since it got so messed up in last year's floods. This is a great ride, and a great way to start out the new year. With the rains we have had in recent days, we might even see some snow in the lower sections.

8:30am at the meeting place on Santa Anita Ave, Glendora.

Huh, I guess we didn't get as much rain as it seemed. And I'd say Kipp's right about the uber-dry soil since this was one of the first "big rains" of the season.

Whatever the reason, I'm psyched! I'm up for something Thursday afternoon and I start my teaching gig at UCI on Friday so I may hit up Aliso, El Moro, and/or LCWP Friday around 2:30 or so on that day as well.
 
Crap guys - I completely forgot. I have work on Thursday in LA and I usually don't leave there till the evening.

I'm up for something tomorrow afternoon or friday or sat. morning though. :?:
 
thats ok George. we'll set up a another ride for the weekend.

I will be there Thursday afternoon with another one of my buddies (Craig).

Im thinking of a start time around 2:00PM
 
I can do Thursday at 2pm I think. Which entrance?

A non-biking buddy was coming to town for the Rose Bowl so I may catch up with him depending on his plans.
 
10am Wednesday, just drove by Aliso Creek entrance to Woods Canyon and the park is closed to all traffic (including hikers) due to muddy roads.
 
Just got back from Santiago Truck Trail to Old Camp. Did not go down to Old Camp or the Luge because of the posibility of mud....what I did ride was totally dry.

Seeing all this feedback on trail conditions gave me an idea. What happened to that section of the site? For people who are new to the site(correct me if I am wrong), there used to be a section where trail conditions were posted as well as whether the trail was open or closed. This is the only site where I see enough people postings and such where it would be practical to have something like that. I guess people didn't really notice during the spring/summer/fall months since it was pretty sunny and clear anywhere you went, but it would be helpful during the rainy season. I'm willing to do my part in the SGV area (turnbull(7th ave), trail in azusa cyns, monroe truck(gmr), CHWP (marshall cyn/mills), Mt Baldy, Chino Hills). Just my 2 cents. :-k

I rode at Aliso this morning. It's open. No mud to speak of. Trails are super tacky. Velcro-like. With today's weather, should be completely dry by this afternoon. Have fun.

Riding there at about 3:20 (quick ride) with one of the Matt's (ocrider). Heading out as soon as Matt gets out of class.

If anyone wants to join up you're welcome. I think we mighit run into the other matt and his group . . .
