Ride Report Aliso SSufferfest (my cr@ppy ride report)

Bon doesn't need to worry about anything. We'll be more than happy to notify the next of kin and find a nice home for his bike (or bike parts).

Assuming I'm back on the bike, 2/10 at SJT would be purfect for the SSingleSSpeed SSufferfeSSt.

i will tell you right now that Bon will not be attending...he no likey...that's too wilderness for him

I know but I was hoping to "persuade" him to make this one...he joined us before at SJ when his Santa Cruz had gears but had to turn back cuz his buddy had blown up...he'll do it, he just doesn't know it yet:lol:!

Just for the record this is 1 ride with the Hubby and my SS friends I will not be attending anytime soon.
What??:?:

Nam has been gracious enough to volunteer to sweep- I know, what a suprise but you gotta love the guy!- and Pugz was in the shop this am it sounds like he's ready to try out SJ, not on a SS but regardless he will LOVE this trail:bang: c'mon Traci...\\:D/you can do it!!

San Juan

I didn’t read the whole thread but if you are new to SS’ing and going to ride San Juan here is my advise. Wear some comfortable shoes;)

No cheating Steve! You bring your 1x9, shift it into #5 in the back and then will duct tape your shifter.

If I gotta carry the extra weight of the shifter, derailleur, and cassette, I'm making full use of it. Same goes for my seat. If I gotta be standing the whole way up, I ain't going to be happy. And riding my bike has never failed to make me happy.:bang:

Pssst. what's that you got in your pack? Looks like a 34T cassette. What you got that for? Shhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! It's my bailout gear. :D

Haha, noted. Methinks I'll be much happier once I get above the opening switchbacks. Oh yeah, and a few of those steep ups and switchbacks midway up to cocktail rock. And that other part...

Hmm...

I agree with DZ. For the new SS guys going to do this, better put that saucer on the back or you'll be walking. SJ is not hard, but it's long. I did it in my 34:18 after work with no sleep on the Turkey day SSufferest, so anything is possible. HJ would be just plain brutal for the new guys IMHO #-o. Too close to the VQ, so if I join ya, I may even gear down a bit to a 32:18. Gots to save the knees.

Good point Gene.

Somebody should just start a new thread with a voting poll in it.

Hello? FooFighter?

what you want Carl? poll for what? i did one earlier but my selection was limited to a couple areas.

Duan, that's up to you guys. Especially the newbie SSpeeders. I'm gonna watch this thread and see what dates and stuff you guys pick. I still need to be fresh for the Counting Coup 3/1 so I won't be killing myself on a sufferfest if it's the weekend before.

Carl
