Ride Report Aliso SSufferfest (my cr@ppy ride report)

so what's everyone's thought on Santa Rosa Plateau for a SS lovefest?

To flat to call a sufferfest.....my vote is for Aliso or San Juan...I know San Juan is "isolated" but maybe some shuttle monkeys- Nam?- can meet us at Cocktail Rock with cocktails:beer:!

Once you clear the switchbacks at SJ its pretty cool to look back and see what you have gone up, especially Uno Gearo!
I took some 1st time San Juan Trail riders there this last Sunday and they loved it, especially the views!
OR maybe a little Holy Jim??:bang:ala SS?

san juan on a ss... i think i can put a 22T chain ring on my cranks... 22-19 :bang:

HJ on a SS hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha maybe for the harrrrrd core :)

I vote for holy jim this saturday 5:30 a.m ss super suffer fest. Kinda funny I was thinking about doing holy jim by myself this weekend regardless, some company would be alot more fun.

you'd think that, wouldnt you? HJ's easier than SJ. why? warm-up. from the parking lot and then the first few switchbacks.

SJ? out of the lot, straight up. cardio overload!

I'd be up for HJ, Pain divide, Trabuco SS love fest.

HJ is relentless constant uphill. At least with SJ, you get some flat areas to rest your legs. And that road heading up to HJ? It's worse than HJ itself, it wears you out before you even start climbing.

Is this sufferfest to break in new SS riders or a training ride for seasoned SS hammerheads? A sufferfest for some may be a walkfest for others. I vote for parks like Aliso which has a good combination of easy trails and steeper hills. How about Chantry Flats?

Lovefest it is................

although, I've ridden a SS for 10yrs......

I truely only started riding my bike for real last summer, being off the bike for 3 months, my vote will be for something local with a bit of something for everyone!

Neil - already told me he doesn't have 6 hrs for me to do HJ or SJ (thanks for your support Neil) ;)

You hardcore SS's ride all the time where-ever your little heart desires! Us that want to ride SS and learn to use the bike we own will stay local and have fun suffering with each other :bang:(Love you Honey!)

Duan - Just for the record, Neil will not leave you alone until you go do one or more of the rides with him! He loves to push people, it's his drive. Nothing is more pleasurable for him than to see someone push themselves to the next level.

Trust me - you are on that list!

lovefest no, sufferfest yes!
We could make SJ work, its just about pacing yourself and YES I would wait for you, my lovely wife.

SJ or HJ would be a BIG accomplishment on any bike but I think SJ would be a bit quicker and like Ethan said it is cardio right out of the gates but if it was easy everyone would do it:lol:....come on Duan, lets go big!!!!

This is awesome. All this SS suffering has been on Duan. Myself and everyone else can keep on SSing without any grief. Thanks Duan for being our representative!

hey, you saw it on Saturday- he did take the brunt of the "love"* from the crowd.

*in this case, love = heckling.

now, did that come from the fact that he's the ride leader, that he was a neo-sser, none, both, other?

thanks Steve! nothing but love for all you hecklers...believe me i'm hard on myself as it is...so this just pushes me...my wife's about ready to stop talking to me unless i just let it go and enjoy riding...

Being down all christmas break has me hurtin to ride. My wife keeps catching me going into the garage just to squeeze the brakes and adjusting parts. That last ride has my hopes up that I'll be back up to speed in a few weeks. Riding has really helped get my lungs working harder. No more crying games:lol:. Just let it all hang out!
