well, more like "let's take the ss out- it's lighter and easier to push!"
did the Sat AM ride that was posted by foofighter Duan. T'was nice to finally meet you in person, as well as 1fgrider (mike?) on his refurbished SSchwinn (fine bike!), and the rest- not sure on names though. (help! i didn't get a chance to introduce myself - I was the weird dude on the SSofa King wearing wool :lol
there was even a 1x1clyde sighting. sorry dude- didn't get a chance to introduce myself and say "hi". sweet SSalsa, BTW! 29er's represent! Clyde was definitely the peanut gallery with the slams and jabs that got all laughing.
now, who was the wicked fast guy on the brown kona SS? I thought i was doing just fine at nearly the front of the pack heading to TOTW and he comes smokin' past me like I'm standing still! damn!
Marcel (houseofmusic) even graced us with his presence while out on his own loop- apparently we're not good enough to ride with him
there were several new ssers getting their feet wet and one really out of shape guy (myself) that did their best to conquer the hills. I did better than i thought i would. neoSSers: stick to it. it does get easier!
my ride started a little earlier at the church lot at a very chilly 7:00 (someone said it was 41 degrees) and the spin down the pavement was nothing but chilly. damn cold, in fact. I was happy to hit the gate and up into the canyon- it was much warmer.
thanks for the ride, guys! now, anyone got the pics?
high points:
-getting flipped off by Duan for heckling.
-getting cursed at by Duan for suggesting he hit Dripping Cave on the way back to MILF park.
-something about a f%*^$ing peanut gallery from Duan:lol:
-getting back on the bike.
-finding out that muddy sections on meadows are, well, different: sliding sideways down the trail is interesting!
-trail runners:clap:
