I saw this vid while at work the other day. Palms got very sweaty (okay, okay, TMI...). Yeesh.

Apparently the guy at OnlineEngineer is trying to get it pulled down wherever it pops up -- he doesn't want the climber to get in trouble due to his sort of 'lax' manner of climbing occasionally without securing himself in. Certain employers apparently frown on that sort of cavalier approach to the work. Ya think?... #-o

I think they should be able to base jump off the tower to get down!

When I saw the tower vid, it made me think of the GC Skywalk. They do a graphic in the tower vid about the tower being taller than the Empire State Bldg. Apparently the air below the Skywalk is something like 3 1/2 times as tall as the Empire!! Yeesh. There's not very many good vids of the Skywalk because they don't allow cams onto it. That's a shame really -- they want you to buy their pics and vids, I guess, but they already charge you two separate fees to gain access to the walk: $43.05 + $32.05 = $75.10!!! That's per person!

    Here's the Skywalk site: http://www.grandcanyonskywalk.com/

They have a vid on their front page -- funny to watch people out there walking along the opaque border of the walk, like that makes any difference! Ha!

    From their FAQs:

Can I bring my camera on the Skywalk?
In an effort to preserve the glass, personal items are not permitted on the Skywalk. This
includes cameras, cell phones, strollers, etc. Lockers are available at the Skywalk to
store these items at no charge to you.

Utter bullshit -- their marketeers ran with that one. Ugh. If they wanted to preserve the glass, as they say, then they'd make you take off your shoes!

Amazing (and sketchy) video, Formu1fan 8-[. Go figure ,I'm one of those terrified by extreme heights but am a fan of skyscrapers/skylines (I guess as long as I'm not in one). I think The Towering Inferno traumatized me. :?: How about being the guy who has to change the light bulb at the very, very top of this baby, The Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the world's tallest skyscraper?

I will visit the Grand Canyon Skywalk someday. That is total awesome.

It doesn't look so bad... actually think it would be pretty cool... the transitions between the various towers looked the diciest, like he was trying to find good hand holds. I bet you get pretty fit climbing those towers all day...

It's be interesting to see the fatality rates for those guys. I bet it's a pretty short career path but you get paid well while you do it.

The skyway is a scam, check into it very thoroughly before you go there.

I like how at the very top he stands up on that tiny platform that the beacon is on then lets go of the pole to unscrew a carabiner to attach it to the pole. That guy has nerves of steel.
He ought to base jump off the top of it to get down. Even better yet, he should of got to the top, act like he's unscrewing the carabiner then act like he slipped and fell then pull the rip cord. That would really freak people out.
