Update, it still hurts. Still cant sit on a saddle. The way I can describe it is any time the bone touches the saddle it a sharp painthat feels like its burning or im sitting on a nerve. Pretty bummed.

On second thought, i think all of you that are saying muscle injury are right. The pain wasnt there at all for any of the climbs during that ride, or was there any warning. We did a really technical dh with alot of twisting and leaning back and a huge roller and then the pain started. Im thinking I must have pulled something during the dh?

Hmmm Not and MD... but what I experienced is nerve / tendinitis / inflammation where the hamstring attaches to the sitbone. IT HURT!
Ok .. here I go... is it sensitive to the touch... is there swelling?
You may need to back off... but if you injure that sit bone area where the hamstring attaches...its gonna take a while. (my previous post went through how i got past it)

Sorry I have nothing constructive to add to this thread..... and I broke my rule of not replying if I have nothing constructive, so I'll say get a new saddle. Maybe it's just the color that's causing the problem.

No to painfull to touch in that area, but it is if I press to the bone. No swelling. Heres what gets me, i can pedal and ride without siting down. Doesnt hurt one bit. I can also pedal if I sit on my left side, its just that one area and only hurts when I sit on a saddle, chair and car are fine.. I feel like if it was my hamstrings Id feel pain in other motion wouldnt I?

Maybe be different, maybe you bruised the bone...etc....

I could pedal fine... I SS'd more during recovery the hamstring was fine... the pain was very specific to the point where the bone touched the saddle... mine got bad enough that I had some swelling right at that point... brutal. But then I got a new saddle, stretched, iced, stood more etc.... slowly went away. Saddle was the biggest I went from 143 to 135... instant difference for me.

Same with me chair / car fine... the saddle creates specific pressure points right on that bone.

    Good luck...

this entire string is a pain in the ass. That said at least he was not hurt 4 inches forward, it would be an entirely different discussion.
Otay time for some night trails

Go get a proper bike fit, the correct seat for your sit bones, and go see a doctor about your ass...maybe one located in West Hollywood (just guessing they've seen some butt damage).

Had something similar last year in that exact area...after a few days the sharp pain went away while riding, but it took three months before I could put my wallet in my right rear pocket without feeling pain, and another few months without feeling discomfort...although the cause of my injury was a failed wheelie going over the back and landing on the spot.

It didn't impact my pedal strength while riding/climbing, but I'd feel it again on technical DH's (for me) where body and bike had to English through areas.

give it a week or two.
