I just copy and pasted this from the Decline Magazine site (www.declinemagazine.com)

    PRETTY FREAKIN' COOL!!!!

A Bike Park In SoCal? Heck, yes!

The Ranch at Elizabeth Lake, just northeast of Valencia, California, is currently turning this landscape into a bike park, complete with downhill and cross-country trails, a pumptrack, slopestyle course, BMX track and skills zones. And that’s just the beginning…

Marketing Director, Shannon Decker, has big plans for the resort, which also houses hundreds of RV spaces, along with several cabins, a swimming pool, a golf course, banquet hall, a bar and two restaurants. He plans to move in a bike shop and general store to make the resort an all-encompassing destination. The resort facility and the surrounding landscape have a lot of potential to become a bicycle destination, catering to everything from downhillers to triathletes.

Trail cutting started this week as will the landscaping of the BMX, pumptrack and slopestyle zones. Decker is already working with IMBA and other cycling organizations on trail design and park layout. However, he could use some help from knowledgeable mountain bikers to help route and cut trails, and help construct the pumptrack and slopestyle courses. If you’ve got experience and want to be a part of shaping this bike park then check in with Shannon Decker at [email protected] Anyone that wants to lend a hand is welcome and will gain special bike park privileges.

The trails will wind through wooded mountains with shuttle access to the top of the DH trails.

The area slated for the pumptrack and slopestyle zones is larger than a football field.

The Ranch has basketball courts, a swimming pool and a fire pit.

About an hour out of Los Angeles, The Ranch at Elizabeth Lake is located in the Angeles National Forest.

According to the article on the Decline site they are already cutting trails and building. Who knows when it will really open, but it sounds like it's the real deal. I just hope they have experienced trail builders building everything.

it was edited to correct for spelling, you should try it some time. "shure" is a good example - and if you think people still don't sue AND WIN after signing waivers, you are still living in the 80's. but i do agree with you that if have the mentality to sue, you shouldn't be on a bike...

anyway i hope this park does happen and i shouldn't be so negative but i've seen so many mx tracks shut down for the above reasons that i am cautiously optimistic.

It's just south of the Poppy Preserve and north of Bouquet Cyn.

Uncle has a place on the lake there.

Might have to make it up there more often.

And it isn't in the ANF or Valencia as the article suggested.
