4 Days in Bliss

^^ I could only afford insurance for one knee!

Seriously- I only seem to fall on the left one.

As for the tech, I'm kind of a badass hardcore rider now. On this trip I successfully/unintentionally landed the first ever huck to splat to somersault to foot wedge between fork/tire with a 2-spoke twist (no pic, sorry, although I did think about it while I was yelling on the ground).

EDIT: No--really, Gray! I'm old and I list to the left. That's the story.

Pics From Our Rides So Far...

We've been on this road trip since July 8 and it certainly has been the road trip of a lifetime!

Genny I hope you enjoy your Sultan as much as I love mine. Congrats !

Lynn: I had no idea this Sultan would be such a hoot! Every ride is more enjoyable than the last!

I've wanted a F/S 29er since I've owned my Felt H/T 29er and this was just one of those things that the timing just sort of works out. Serendipity certainly...and it saved our road trip!

Edit: I have to give the credit to Carla Bray for turning us on to Sellwood Cyclery in Portland. We had stalled out at Fat Tire Farm in Portland, not able to get Doug's bike fixed there, and over lunch and lots of frustration, I called Carla to let her know we were in the area and also our predicament. She gave us the names of two really good shops in the outer Portland area and Sellwood rocks!

Wow, thanks for the great pics. I am going to Oregon in two weeks and will be hitting the Oakridge area and McKenzie River trail. I hope the Bunchgrass is still there!
I am so excited my tummy hurts.

^^ Be sure to give a little love to the Mercantile (LBS) in Oakridge--great people and Derrick does tons of trailwork in the area. And don't miss the brew pub; half the customers are mtbers. For Mckenzie, hit up Kent at Harbick's Inn for the shuttle and/or a great room. He's an awesome guy. I'm pretty sure the bunch grass will still be blooming (it's pretty incredible). Somebody else told us it only blooms every 7 years (sorry, Liz). Feel free to pm us with any questions.

We're trying Waldo Lake today, although we might be the first people this year to ride it (snow). Liz turned us on to it. It's a 22-mile loop around one of the cleanest and clearest (up to 120 ft. visibility) lakes in the world.
