The 2012 Tour de France is right around the corner, who's your picks? Cadel Evans looks like a possible repeat winner, he's in good health and has a strong team supporting his cause. Should be a great race!

P.S. Does anyone know of a good iPad app for race coverage? Thanks in advance.

    Evans or Wiggins.

Evans is strong but Wiggins has been on a mission this year.

    Should be a great race.

Dont forget the Olympics are not far after it, and most GC contenders will sometimes lay up or pull out if they dont think they can win it. And Wiggins being a Brit Riding for Sky (Olympic home turf) may do just that, if he cant lock in a decent lead.

Download the tour tracker TDF All Access App in the I store. You then pay a one time fee to watch the entire tour plus you can rewatch any stage in its entirety for an entire year up to the next tour.

Conventional wisdom puts the odds with Evans or Wiggins but I would love to see an "outsider" win: Ryder, voekler, frank schleck, nibali....

Wiggo looks hard to beat, especially with 100 km in time trials this year. That also puts Evans back on top as a favorite, but Wiggins has won all the stage races (3) he's been in this year. I just want to see an exciting race. Tommy Voeckler made it exciting last year, but don't give him much of a chance this year -- his form is in question, too many time trials, and he will be marked much closer than just a guy looking to win a stage and hold the jersey for Bastille Day.

+1 on the iPad app. It's worth the fee.

I'm in the Wiggins/Evans camp; but I think this one might be really wide open. I think a lot of riders will drop out a week plus in when it start getting hard with their Olympic dreams. This might lead to some GC guys having less support - making it even more wide open.

I somewhat agree, but the London course is supposedly geared toward the sprinters, so it may have more of an effect for the green jersey than the yellow. Sprinters and most of the lead-out guys won't help much in the mountains, BUT they can help in bringing back breaks or chasing between climbs.

It will be interesting to see if Cavendish and Greipel go all the way to Paris. Boonen is doing the Tour of Poland instead of TdF.

Wiggins or Evans. If Hesjedal podiums that will be a story. Want to see if Sagan can take some points from Cavendish. Don't see him beating MC in a straight up sprint - Cavendish more explosive and tough in tight space. Sagan looks like a Hushovd type of sprinter who can climb a bit.

With a field as large as the TdF I feel foolish trying to pick "The Winner" so early. Who here predicted Cadel Evans victory last year, that really materialized as the tour progressed? I have my favorites but really just enjoy seeing how it plays out "wind 'em up and watch 'em go!"...stoked to see ANY American rider come away with a stage win!

I've been saying Wiggins for a few months now but I really think one of the young guns could come up and surprise us all. Now with Alberto, Andy and a few other contenders out, I'm thinking the teams might go with a surprise attack and send some one out early to get some time in on the top guys, then get the support of the team behind them.

YEAH!:bang: Watching here too. 28 Days in July!

NBC Sports has it on their site. However, it is already receiving poor reviews. I used it last year and had the same problems users are complaining about this year -- very poor video quality. All other aspects of the app are great but for $15 it should be perfect.

Its pretty much a tradition to have Sparticus lead out the pack in yellow. Well done Mr. C. Lets get this thing ON! Love watching the tour, and then going out on the bike and feeling like a total loser.
